Now then lads,

Take it from whatever walk, event or something close to your heart but..

If you could 'Make a Wish' what would it be?


The usual Friday night crap from Joe but remember Ha' Waaaaay the Laaaads
 
Jesus! I don't know where to start with this one, but I'll have a go anyway..On the global scale, I wish that all people would abandon organised religions and realise that every religious book that has ever been written has been produced and adapted by people. If this wish came true, then people would be forced to look into their own hearts for what they truly believe, rather than be told what to believe by someone elses interpretation of man written texts.
My second wish would be that governments, on a global basis, would start to put environmental issues before short term gains. By this I mean fuel guzzling cars not being produced or used, air travel being limited to maybe a maximum of three return flights per year, and a restriction on people having huge numbers of children to get the global population down to a manageable level...If these changes came true, it would give all of our children and/or grandchildren hope for the future.

Mine is very simple Joe, lots of people give lots of help and cash to famine, children, animals and I know they could do with more but my wish would in all seriousness be for people like you. The hundreds and thousands of nobodies, in a nice way, who care for people, yes they get some cash for it and some good people give them some restbite but, in the main, they struggle alone.

My problems are nothing compared to you, nothing, but I have spent the week watching someone shake and be sick in a bucket, phone call on Monday saying I need help, in car, collected person and brought her back to get her back on the waggon.

Lots of people carry lots of stress without anyone to moan at and lots of people carry lots of guilt for needing them, just seems very unfair to me so my wish would be to give them all a break.
 
Syd, as before and again, people only know their own identity when faced with a crisis. I fought in Germany as a boxer at a young age 21 against a tall guy, phenomenal fighter who spent a half hour telling me afterwards that he could not understand how someone so much smaller, with arms like an oran-utan could batter him about so easily with orthodox lead and ferocious attacks. We were sparring at the time and that man went on to become a pro title holder at if I remember 3 belts. He was Tommy 'the hitman' Hearns and probably one of the most coolest lads Iv'e ever met.

What I wish for is my 'Lollie' to be able to hold a glass agin, a cup again, a fork again, to be herself agin and to be able to hold me again and say 'love you'..

I wish I could wish for my team to beat Barca in the champions league final but my Lollie & Ella are my champions league and there's work to be done for them..

Sorry to be melodramatic, just cannot realise why god made his decisions against Lollie..
 
Wish I could say something clever Joe, but I cant. Wish I could help, but I cant.Wish I could chnge things, but I cant. I can be hear for you to shout at, laugh with and cry with, I do a good cry mate.

Tommy Hearns was a hero of mine in the 80s. No way was the second fight with Leonard a draw.

But if I could have a (non-serious) wish it would be that SAFC would win the Prem after doubling NUFC in the season after my lottery win when I bought a luxury box at the SoL.....:)

Tut tut, dreaming again Sid. Seeing Hearns rise through the ranks was a delight for me also. As a detroit fighter, he was a tall quiet lad but with a unique talent. Another delight was seeing a good mate Terry Marsh get his belt. All went sour for him but if you ever had an hour or so over a few beers I'd explain the true facts behind all that.

Anyway, must sleep so nite all..
