that clearly showed on Carricks face at the end of the game...He looked shot to pieces.
Genuinely don't give a s hit about Boro...I'm totally ambivalent to them... But have you ever know such a disingenuous person as Carrick. His team were clearly 2nd best all over the park in the 2nd half and didn't have the good grace to actually give any credit. As for his non-comments when invited by the interviewer to praise Le Fee...completely blanked it....

Mental that they haven't signed defenders, the GK will be a good signing for them and Giles is a good attacking fullback but he can't defend!!

Scoring goals hasn't been an issue for them but conceding has been

I'm a huge fan of Azaz but Neil totally shut him down last night - he had no space to get any success due to Neil
A robust defensive mid too - they were linked with Kamara and, for me, that's exactly what they need, someone that will help them being so exposed on transition (mind that's probably largely born out of Carrick's tactics too rather than personnel).

As you say, Giles is a good attacking left back who can't defend - they already have that to a degree in Engel and Borges. Azaz is technically superb and great on the ball but games can pass him by, his work off the ball is poor and if played correctly as we/Neil did last night then he can be completely nullified. Oh look, I just describer Whittaker who they went out and spent £6m on!

Illing-Junior looked like he have an impact. Strong direct lad.

He will be good for them once settled.
He's a good player but will he cover their whole left side when Giles bombs forward and leaves a massive hole there?

I don't rate Whittaker at all, scores some screamers but his link up play and off the ball stuff is poor

We’ve proven against the better teams in the league we are good enough for automatics. It’s dropping points against dross that we should be beating that’s been our Achilles heel but hopefully no more of that second half of the season.

Would I have liked another big name loanee on the wing? Absolutely. Some of the names mentioned would’ve carried us over the line imo. But it’s not a bad window. We know we didn’t need much to improve the first Xl but we’ve managed to get someone in that’s done just that. Massive few months for these lads now.

If we did sign any more players other than Danns who is dropping out of the matchday squad when Browne, Mundle, Watson & Seelt are fit?

H. Jones and Trey, other than that Hjelde? Poveda?

Also Poveda could of really eased some worries about him if he took his chance last night instead of falling over the ball
