I wish SSN would at least spend a couple of minutes an hour discussing transfers that don't involve the Premier League.
Only a few more year to suffer Sky marra. They are haemorrhaging money like no tomorrow and losing advertising which is why all of the Star pundits went to be replaced by billy no mate types. Its reckoned by 2029 they will be gone.

First team squad for the season of 25 players (with two long term injuries). No desperate needs to fill specific positions this time round. A manager who doesn't really rotate and doesn't use subs. Not adding up to a 'need' to sign players tbh. Personally I kinda hope we sign nobody, just for the devilment. There is no signing we can make that will guarantee anything. And if we do manage to get up this season, it might make people question whether their need for transfers is more of an addiction than anything else. January remains a **** month to do business and is never much more than adjustment. We've already achieved that. Looking lustily at Sheffield United going out and signing 6-7 champ journeymen isn't something I'll be doing any time soon tbh.
This for me as well. I'll be logging off here 7.30 on Monday night to watch Frankie and Danny snhow, then the boro match with a few bottles of Hairy Bikers - new Theakston real ale, red top well recommended. I'm staying well clear of this thread, incase it decends into a repeat of last summers embarrassing transfer deadline thread.

I have no idea who these "pundits" are on SSN this morning. I believe they may be "influencers" what ever that is

And what if the theoretical 'needed' better depth gets injured, do we get another? And what happens if that one gets injured? We don't 'need' anything. We're doing very well as things stand. We can construct theoretical issues, but it's worth remembering the lesson of the last playoff run, where the fanbase lost their **** over missing strikers, but it was actually a centre back injury crisis that did for us (which none of our fans were worried about in January). The goal is promotion, yes, but this idea that we NEED players is facile. We've got players.

To be honest, you're my patient zero for Transfer Addicts Anonymous anyway:emoticon-0102-bigsm
Boom boom bang bang

What time does the window close on Monday? is it 11pm?

No signing ever guarantees improvement but everyone could argue that about every single transfer ever made. We could miss out by 1 point to Sheff Utd and you could put it down to them doing business in January and us standing still. And ultimately that’s exactly what the fans will say if we do just miss out. Football is a very fickle sport and it’ll always be the same. All we can do is put ourselves in the best position possible and that’s by signing the right players if the figures are right, I’m sick of hearing about player development. We owe these players nothing nor do they owe us it’s a business at the end of the day and KLD is in charge to do what’s best for the club not what’s best for Chris Rigg because he’s from Hebburn.

For months we’ve all moaned about the lack of depth in the squad and having nobody on the bench who can change things but now we’re linked with decent players people are whinging that others might be benched to make way ffs.

That doesnt bode well for sensible debate on social media. The game will finish about 10 ish and subject to the result there will be an hour of the window left......
I tend to avoid all SAFC social media after we have the nerve to have drawn or lost anyway. You're right, it will only be exacerbated by the transfer window deadline...

hopefully we get our signings before Monday so we can concentrate on match but this is SAFC we always do things the hard way

Yeah I think we absolutely need at least one more attacking player.

Personally, I'd either want an out and out number 9 or a player comfortable on both wings. I'd probably prefer a winger but that may be recency bias talking considering we have one fit wide player currently
