Plymouth turned down £12m for Whittaker in the summer

Meant to be abit of a bell isn’t he? Good player though, him and doak are incredible options for them
Think they turned down as much as 18 with addons and such.Plymouth turned down £12m for Whittaker in the summer![]()

Seen Plymouth fans suggesting he had been figured out in this league the other day on Twitter but clearly didn't want to be there so if he was actually trying is questionable.Yeah i'm not as convinced by Whittaker as a lot of people are (although partly comes down to forcing his way out of 3 clubs now) but i think its worth the fee if he can replicate that almost 30g/a season from last year or even half of that.
Not for me likeI think he is an upgrade on Roberts and I rate Roberts
Plenty players have done similar to force moves, Kenwyne jones did it before coming here he turned out alright, it’s not a good look but sometimes they’ve got to do what they’ve got to do, good player at a good price, glad he’s not playing tomorrow tbhAye. Hasn't covered himself in glory at all. Might just need a new move and the arm round the shoulder. Just commenting on the ability and price. Personally think that's a cracking deal for Boro.
Eurgh. That's ugly.
I don't think Whittaker suits the right wing position in the system Boro play. His best football is when he drifts infield, look at his shot maps from the last 2 seasons, but the right winger for Boro provides the width with the left winger drifting infield. I think he may end up playing more centrally for them.
I prefer your Stern John equivalent proposal (Mendy or Riis?). Mayenda, Abdullahi and Ogusunyi for me largely satisfy the criteria you've laid out above.I think I'd probably prefer one who is a bit further back in his development - and one who is more of a physical standout. For me, that impact off the bench would be easier to achieve if the target had either searing pace or is incredibly physical - ideally both! For me Frigan looks like he's 'alright' on both but not particularly high level on either.
Agreed, Whitaker is so poor out of possession, 100% will score more than Roberts but he offers nothing oit of possessionnl and even in possession he is very wastefulNot for me like
With them retaining Doak, my assumption was that they must be signing him as more of a 10. They've obviously already got Azaz there so maybe he then pushes over to the left.I don't think Whittaker suits the right wing position in the system Boro play. Surprised that Akor Adams is only going for €5.5m like. English market is insane
That's what I meant (/saidMaybe Azaz goes to the left now with Giles overlapping him
Really good side on paper.
Except their defence which is honking imoMaybe Azaz goes to the left now with Giles overlapping him
