On Isidor;

There's not many forwards scoring 20 goals in a championship season. Last season, Szmodics had the season of his life to bag 27, Armstrong got 20 too I believe, both of those lads cost eight figures.

Before that, Gyokeres, Akpom and Morris got 20+. Morris stayed with Luton, Gyokeres went for a fortune and so did Akpom.

Meaning 22 and 21 teams in the respective seasons didn't have a 20 goal a season striker, some of which got promoted.

My point being, if Isidor keeps it up he'll reach close to 20 you'd imagine, which for 3.5 mill or so, is an absolute bargain deal. He needs to be cut a bit slack. He has missed good chances no doubt and could be on 15, but it's very unlikely to have that one man to claw you into the Prem at the minute. They cost a bomb usually.

Love Isidor, good strikers hard to come by and he has some x factor which is even rarer. Sign him up, class player, suits us and great to watch. Makes me smile, scores goals and has skill, what's not to like?

Also criticized for not passing at that one chance (of course he should have) but how many teams have a striker that can pick it up on the edge of the box and drive to the opponents 6 yard box past 3/4 players

In fairness he should’ve passed but then didn’t and still managed to carve himself an opening
I think he was within his rights to carry on. He was past the nearest defender and the other centre half kept dropping off to cover themselves square pass. Basically invited him towards goal. Once he chopped inside there was no pass on really.

I’ve just posted on the other thread there the defender did really well!

I don’t really like it tbh. It presented Isidor with a decent chance. In the end it was the recovering defender who made the challenge - although I guess it worked out pretty well so maybe there’s merit in the approach!

not sure how 100% this is,

Villa want at least 10m for Barry,

would you think the club would spend that much on him?

Absolutely not, £10m for someone who’s only done it in league one and two is stupid money, I get your paying for the potential but you’d be mad to take that chance right now, imo of course

just shows what a crazy time we are in for football prices.

players will be going for over the top prices

anywho

surely we should see some movement now, things tend to heat up towards the end of this window

I think January always adds a few mil on top too praying on desperate sides who need to get deals done quickly, I hate this window and it’s another reason I’m thankful we’re in so a good position

it does

a player in summer window could go for 2-5m

in Jan - 7-10m as selling team will know buying team is desperate for that kind of player,

give it a few years and a player will go for about 150m in this window.

The games gone daft, hoping we’ve somehow stumbled on the perfect formula to combat it with our approach, don’t think we’ll see any movement until after Plymouth now though, nice break between them and boro/deadline day
