We have one loan slot left. They want one more really ambitious loan to buy similar to le fee I know that much

My 50p on the matter

signing cannon - he’s a brilliant forward to be honest, massive fan, if we signed him we’d move Isidor to the left. That’s where my problem lies. I’m in two minds because Isidor is the best finisher in the division, the data backs that up it’s not an opinion. So for me, I don’t want him to go to a rival, but also think it’s a waste for us

BBD - inside forward off the left. Good player, Mundle is going to take a while to get up to speed it’ll be nearing the end of feb, we have a lot of important games coming. Has a brilliant goal record, not sure on his defensive game, but RLB has drilled it into players that couldn’t so I wouldn’t be surprised. Would be okay

louie Barry - this is my preferred loan to buy of names linked. Similar ish to BBD in being an inside forward off the left, difference being much younger and would probably be happier developing and rotating around Mundle a lot more than BBD.

Is there a world were the club does Isidor's deal early to free up a loan spot?
Unlikely, we’ve probably set it out from the future budget, unless we get two massive loan deals we don’t want to turn down, but I really can’t see it with my financial brain on

I’d take BBD over Cannon I think. Either would be great.

I think neither is more likely tho due to the BBD and Sheff Utd links and the fact Cannon has come from Nixon!

He'd be signed to be the versatile forward though rather than the striker?
Yep he would be used LM or CF, I do think Mundle and Watson suit our system more than him when he plays on the wing. He isn't your typical winger, he plays inside a lot more and that's where he is dangerous but we don't use our wingers like that

He is better in a front 2 as well so that's why I have concerns about the fit in our team. He does score goals tho and that's why I'm not against him signing but I'm also not excited some are

I doubt RLB will play Isidor off the left again this season.

Forgot about Vinicius, loan to buy would be good if it’s A) an option only or B) cheap. Because I have my doubts

The reason I’d be excited by BBD is his goal scoring, work rate and the fact he’d be something completely different to what we have.

I think he would give us a different option off the left, get cirkin overlapping more and let him drift in the half space to support Isidor. It could really cause this division problems

I’d love to sign him, but as i said in my post it’s a tough one because of Mundle coming back

The names we are now linked with shows the club mean business this window. The ambition and intent is clear. The expectation of the fans has also gone up a notch
I got told we definitely want one more seriously ambitious signing. Loan to buy likelier because we can obviously defer the cost and wait for an influx of cash whilst using what we have now for wages / loan fee

I really like Cannon. I think he's a proper striker who would score plenty in a good team and at 22, can develop as well.

In the loan to buy bucket, I'd rank my preferences like this:

1) Louie Barry
2) Tom Cannon
3) Ben Brereton Diaz
4) Carlos Vinicius (just a loan, no obligation to buy for him).

Pretty much similar but I’m swapping BBD and cannon

I personally don’t see the attraction in Louie Barry at all. Doubt Villa would entertain the buy option, and he’s a left winger. As I’ve said several times, if we are gonna loan a player that just plays left wing we might as well bring Clarke back.

BBD offers more as he scores both championship and premier league goals from either left wing or up front.
