Joined the wrong team. Newly promoted clubs are packing the midfield but not with people like him.

Agree totally with this. Another team that tries to play to his strengths and perseveres with him trying to adapt to a changed role would have been better. It at least gives him a chance to develop, but you get the feeling that Ipswich bought him on his reputation here without looking to see where he fits in and how to get the best out of him. As he's not hit the ground running, they're not going to change to accommodate him, he's getting marginalised a bit. That's bound to knock anyones confidence.

If Ipswich are signing that lad from Villa, that's pushes Clarke even further down the pecking order. He can only come back to us or sit on the bench / not play at Ipswich for the rest of the season.

Mundle has had quite a serious hamstring injury and Watson is not due back till March, would it be so terrible if we looked at bringing Clarke back to further boost our options?

Not saying it could happen, but I wouldn't be adverse to him coming back

Le fee, Clarke and another striker and they may aswell engrave our name on the trophy now to be honest

Busy last night so only dipped in late, lots very excited about a player I bet only a few of us had heard about 3 days ago so I'm taking a lot of those who do knows excitement and going along with that.
Is he a replacement for DN who hasn't signed his contract? I sincerely hope not.
The club are flexing their muscles early in the window, is there more to come?
Said it before but isn't this a great time to be a lads fan. Bring on Burnley.

Never go back and sign an ex player, that magic cant be recaptured and tbh, we look like a better squad without him,

Possibly not, but I just keep thinking it would give Mundle amd Watson a chance to fully recover and when they are fit, cover for right wing with a player the club know and is proven at this level.

Just musings on a Thursday morning

Talent wise I'd love Clarke back however I hate having loads of loan players in match day squads if we signed him and Le Fee on loan that would mean we would have 5

Mepham
Samed
Isidor
Le Fee
Clarke

Rumours are that the striker might be a loan move as well

I'd be delighted to get Clarke back (I wouldn't if Mundle and Watson were both fit but I think mundle injury is a lot worse than they 1st thought and might not be back until march) but only if a loan was made permanent - ididor or Mepham probably

I don't blame Clarke for leaving but Harte has got to advise him better imo. Ipswich weren't a good fit for him, their wingers play narrow and it takes away everything that is good in Clarkes game. Clarke has already had a failed move to a PL side and this is looking like another one. I've watched him a few times and at times he's done pretty well but others he looks totally lost. Players are obsessed with playing in the PL but imo they should be looking at whether the club is the best for them to showcase their skills

I think Clarke will stay at Ipswich and I really hope he shows his true ability before the season finishes

Mixed feelings you'd imagine, nice to get the increased wage but it looks like it'll be just for the length of the contract and his career will be spent in the championship. Not nice for anybody in the workplace to feel excluded/like they're not good enough.

Don't blame him at all for backing himself and taking the opportunity but I bet he's having a few regrets.

He'll be the perfect parachute payment player I think. Someone who gets relegated will spend £15m on him to get them straight back up... then he'll find it tough in a newly promoted Prem team. Rince and repeat.
