It is difficult. And I have faith in the opinions of posters on here who have watched Le Fee and say he will improve us.

My concern, and it is only my own, is Le Fee will play. Roma will be looking for assurances, Regis has to be pulling the strings here not our primary recruitment team, and in that case he will plag. I dont believe rotation will be anything like players take turns. So one of the lads who has got us here sits out more often than not. Imo Rigg needs to play every week to develop at the rate he can, same with Jobe. All for a loan player?

Folk on here know my bias toward academy players. I would back Rigg over Le Fee, for example, because of the long term benefits for the club of producing elite talent. I doubt Rigg would be here if it werent for Dan Neil for example. Academies are self-fulfilling prophecies if they are done well, and we are on the brink of doing it exceptionally. It doesnt take a lot to persuade a young academy talent to choose somewhere else.

If Le Fee joins, all good. Nothing against him as a player. I would simply rather keep faith in the lads who have done so brilliantly so far, who are developing in front of our eyes, and back them up with players more likely able to step in when needed, rather than someone I expect will expect to play the majority of games. Even if that is the difference between promotion or not.

I suppose I have long felt this squad, as it stands, will be top 2. I have said it enough. I base that on players getting better as the season progresses, and Regis knowing more about the league. I still think that. If the club think differently so be it. At the end of the day they have earned my faith recently.
That's fair enough mate

My concern is of players tiring come the end of the season, promotion isn't the be all and end all for us but be great to have something to celebrate

The best players will play, i think Jobe Neil and Rigg are the type that will love the challenge of having another class CM to challenge and push them

If it is Vinicius he was terrible and Fulham and Spurs in the Prem might be ok for Championship but not excited by this.
Le Bris' career to date suggests he's a really good coach for developing centre forwards, he got great performances and numbers out of Bamba and Moffi, so it may be worth waiting and seeing whoever is brought in.

I'll be sneered at by a few for this but Lee Johnson was similar - always got loads out of his strikers and brought them on massively. Doesn't get enough credit for the way Stewart improved here, not to mention the season Wyke had under him.

Exactly my opinion mate, Southern asked what’s the point. My point would be the enjoyment of watching these lads that we have now playing excellent football and enjoying themselves. Southerns point is winning 4/6 matches a season and getting battered the other 32, sounds Fab.

That wasn't my point at all.

My point was the only way to keep the lads you enjoy watching is to get into the Premier League and stay there.

Option 1 - We stay down, they leave.
Option 2 - We go up but do a Southampton, they leave
Option 3 - We go up but stay up, they stay.

The question we all need to ask if would we be willing to risk Option 2 to achieve Option 3. Or are we happy with Option 1 for perpetuity.

Really hope we sign the lad, but for context you could easily do a Patrick Roberts YouTube with just as impressive clips.
I think it’s the quality of opposition Le Fee is doing it against though tbf. Seen a clip of him tearing up Marquinhos at PSG haha.

Patrick Roberts’ clips would be him murdering Jimmy Dunne or something <laugh>

Option 4 they all leave like they did last season.

Whether they leave this summer or next, they'll leave. Rigg and Jobe aren't going to be happy to stay in the championship just because some of our fans are.
Probably next, by which time we will have just as exciting players waiting to take there place. Or do you think we will be heading back to league 1?

Well hopefully you're disappointed as the ownership have made it quite clear they want to be a Premier League club

Wouldnt believe anything he spouts
He doesn’t quote the other article however all the details are easy to guess because Roma are only interested in loan to buy atm

however, i swear someone posted about le fee not getting on with the first manager at Rennes? He got sacked in November

I genuinely think that time is now. A generational opportunity to go up with players that can grow into the Premier League with us and be stalwarts for 5-6 years.
Fair enough mate nowt wrong with that. I don’t believe this team is anywhere near as resilient as the Leicester or Ipswich team that went up last year but time will tell.
I would predict a massacre.

I think they would end up getting the right amount of minutes, as opposed to describing it as ‘less’.
We’ve asked an awful lot of Dan, Riggy and Jobe this season and could do with players to lessen that burden.
Players of this calibre coming in would mean the side would not be negatively affected by changes (the opposite, in fact) whilst bringing real competition for positions.
100% this

The only one I could maybe see leaving is Neil, and even then it would take a huge offer for the club to sell him

We have money from the Clarke deal so don't need to sell to bring in a player and I get the why would he leave roma to sit on our bench. Time will tell if that'll be the case or not. We needed another CM and we are getting a really talented one, that's only a good thing imo

If a player does leave its not because we've sign Le Fee, it's because we've had a really good offer on the table for one of our players

Jobe is linked with Palace, they wanted him in the summer and the club & player both said no - can't see why it would change now when we are competing for the title

Rigg had some huge offers in the summer and said no, again don't see why he would leave now

regarding rigg, i assume those huge offers where for his first pro? I remember reading years back chelsea having kids on 25k a week, is this still the case you reckon? Arguably set for life money if over 3 years and used properly, some coup to keep him if he did reject stuff like that.

Yep he had at least 2 offers that were more money than ours but chose us because we were the right club for him - that's definitely not changed after 6 months
