Just regarding Le Bris' use of subs, it's not actually correct that he was reluctant to use them at Lorient. Apparently he made 145 subs in his first season (10th most in the league) and 148 in his second season (7th most in the league) - stats courtesy of "The Situation" on RTG.

I think his reluctance has been down to a lack of options due to injuries and a lack of trust in those he's had on the bench and I reckon we'll see plenty of rotation if we do good business this month.
Interesting stats, must have just been perception from their fans as their forums were absolutely hammering him for it as a trait.

not sure why you'd pick Luton over West Brom nowadays unless he wants to live back down South
Surprised to see West Brom bidding that much for a right winger. They have money problems and have Tom Fellows, unless Fellows is off?

Fellows surprised me I’d heard a lot of talk about him but last season was easily the worst player I’d seen at the SoL that year

what a turnaround

It's not a view which will get much support on here, but,in many ways I'm in sympathy with it. I'm enjoying watching this team over the last couple of seasons, more than I have in many a day. If I could qualify your comments a little....if we finish 3rd every year and get to the play-off final at Wembley, only to lose a thriller...a la Charlton....how would you feel about that? <laugh>
I suppose I'm really apprehensive about getting promoted and going back to getting thumped every week, calculating the matches we think we can gain the bare minimum points from. I think I've had it with that. I'd love us to be in the PL,but only if we can properly compete.
Mind you,the way the club is being run on the playing side at the minute,I wouldn't bet against us having a plan to enable us to hold our own in the event of promotion either.
I'd maybe skip the Wembley heartbreak mind. ;)
It's only in part the ability to compete that bothers me, I just feel the whole thing stinks - the State owned clubs, the superstar players, the whole circus really. Lost it's appeal to me a long time ago (whilst we were still in the league and I think it's only gotten worse since then). Maybe if we went up and did a Brighton or a Brentford then I'd enjoy it, sell my soul and jump on board but I'm just not sure.

Anyone else think if we actually do secure Le Fee, we might lose one of our midfield 3. Can't see Dan, Jobe or Rigg being too chuffed being in and out of the side. The profile of Le Fee ( must admit, i've never heard of him) suggests he won't want to leave a champions league side to be in and out of the side as well.... Just a thought
The only one I could maybe see leaving is Neil, and even then it would take a huge offer for the club to sell him

We have money from the Clarke deal so don't need to sell to bring in a player and I get the why would he leave roma to sit on our bench. Time will tell if that'll be the case or not. We needed another CM and we are getting a really talented one, that's only a good thing imo

If a player does leave its not because we've sign Le Fee, it's because we've had a really good offer on the table for one of our players

Jobe is linked with Palace, they wanted him in the summer and the club & player both said no - can't see why it would change now when we are competing for the title

Rigg had some huge offers in the summer and said no, again don't see why he would leave now

I should qualify my opinion and what I've posted by saying I have no love whatsoever for the Premier League and, if I'm being honest, I don't particularly even want to get promoted (I know it's an odd view to have, I'm not trying to convince anyone otherwise but equally I can't be convinced that it's the promised land it's made out to be either).

If we're not promoted I'll be sad to see this excellent squad and great set of lads and players being picked apart but I've absolute faith in the club now and would look forward to another great and competitive squad being built with the likes of Watson, Young etc being integral. If I could choose I'd have seasons like this one and then win the Championship in perpetuity without ever getting promoted.

It's a long winded way to answer your question but if one gets injured or loses form then I think we'll cope (probably not to the extent that we maintain a top 2 challenge), as we have in Bellingham and Rigg's absences to date, and we'll continue developing players effectively along the way. I actually wouldn't mind another body in (I'm not against signing Le Fee , just trying to articulate my reservations) but I guess I'd just rather it was a capable back up that it would be reasonable to expect to see start on the bench.
Fair enough mate

I would rather someone who could really push jobe Rigg neil on to be even better, this Lad could be that one

I get the stuff about the PL, look at Southampton this season- but I also trust our owner KS and SH to help us kick on with we do go up

To be fair those numbers average out at between 3 and 4 subs per game which, in the era of 5 potential subs, is probably seen as a bit conservative by fans, especially as there will have been games where he made less than that. The fact that the numbers were at the mid-to-higher end of the league perhaps suggests that being conservative with subs is a Ligue 1 thing rather than a Le Bris thing. I guess we'll find out soon enough
