CAUTIOUS WITH BALLARD "I think we'll have to take care of Dan because it's a muscle injury. It's not major but with muscle injuries you have to be very careful because you can have reinjuries. Joint injuries are different. We'll have to wait a little bit."

SAMED/RIGG "Salis is training now, he's in full training. We'll have Riggy [for Stoke] probably, we have to wait a little bit but his recovery is doing well. So I think these players could be available [for Stoke]."

WATSON/BROWNE/MUNDLE “Tommy is still a few weeks away. With Alan, the recovery has not been quick so we will have to delay a week or two I think. Like Romaine, he will be back a little bit later this month."

ABDULLAHI "Ahmed is training but like Salis, he has not played for around six months now. So I don't know exactly when he will be available but it will be probably take three our four weeks to find his full rhythm."

Watson, Browne, Samed, Abdullahi and Mundle all back this month it seems. I’m not sure we’ll be as active in the window as many think.

We still want a striker mind, we keep saying Abdullahi is a one for the future. Also RLB has said he wants 2-3 players who can come in and make an impact. I reckon it'll be a CF and a RW for sure. Poveda won't be an option anymore I reckon. Graham Falk said on his page that he's heard poveda has been told he can leave also

…well he certainly wouldn’t be missed

Confirmed by Paul Joyce who’s as solid a Liverpool source you’ll get. Reckons they want £30M.

Gives a good barometer of young prospect prices. He's 2 years older than Rigg, with less first team experience, and a worse goal scoring record despite playing in a more attacking position. We shouldn't even consider letting Riggy go for anything less than £40m, on that basis...

I honestly think the parent club being Liverpool slaps an extra 10m on

If we brought them in during the transfer window I think we'd all be very happy. Worth factoring that in.

RLB has repeatedly talked about 2 or 3 players in though

"Now it's a question of opportunities in the market. We are not the only club with expectations for the window. We know it's unpredictable. We know exactly what we need. But you have to consider the reality and availability of the players. We'll see.

"It's important but it's not the most important point. The season now, the dynamic is launched, so you can make some subtle changes but can't change the whole dynamic. It's important to say again that the solutions are more inside than outside, but if we can adjust one, two, three elements to find the right balance for the second half of the season then that's fine. But we don't have to put too much attention on the window and say all the problems will be solved. It doesn't work like that."

Le Bris says he would rather get any business done early but added that he has been clear in his communication with Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman that he is happy to wait for the right target. Le Bris said it was better to be 'accurate' than fast in recruitment.

"Patience is exactly the word I used with the owner and sporting director," Le Bris said.

"It's very important to find the right players rather than just focus on recruiting now. We have to be very accurate. The dynamic of the team is always very subtle so we knew a new player will have an influence, but it's not easy to find the right pieces of the jigsaw. Rather than being fast, we have to be accurate.

"What is our strength is the connection. We have to find a player who can connect. It's possible to add new talents but we have to remember our identity. If we can find the right player in three days I'm happy. But it's not easy to find.

"We are really connected. We can feel it in the building, everyone is connected - the owner, the sporting director, the recruitment team, the staff. We are connected as a team."
