When Tommy signed his contract (at 17?) he probably hadn’t featured at all with the first team. He is probably on comparatively low pay compared to the others. Now that he has a handful of games and done ok he probably thinks he deserves a lot more. Maybe whatever Rigg, Jobe or Neil are getting. He should be given a pay rise but needs to prove consistency before getting the much higher rate that regulars like Cirkin and Roberts get. A contract for five years with a good pay rise and the promise of more depending on performances and which league we are in would be fair. Regarding playing time. Even if him and Mundle remain fit for every game he would feature as a sub and sometimes starter for all these games. Moving to a Premier league club would see him in the reserves or maybe lent out to somewhere like Preston or Derby. Ideally he should talk with Rigg and Jobe, both of them are doing things the right way and could give good advice. If he really wants out then let him go but I reckon he will fare worse than Clarke.
Surprised that there’s been no sort of news story on Jobe or bids today. Not for one second saying it was made up. You’d just think that’s the kind of profile of bid / interest that would find a way of leaking
I thought that but when we played pompy away my brother and mates were drinking with riggs dad and he was saying the club turned down bids on deadline day from dortmund for Rigg and that didn't seem to get much media attention I know he's a mag so could of been on a wind up but mates and that said it was actually quite sound
Scored 6 goals last season in the best team in the league. Not sure he's the silver bullet to get a team promoted
True. Just would like to see us have some activity. I think every link has went down the pan today haha
He’s sought after by good premier league clubs that can offer substantially more salary than we can. It’s entirely understandable if he won’t sign now( although I always think players should get the best deal they can because if a big enough offer is made they’ll get their move anyway). If he’s saying I won’t sign even if promoted that’s different.
well it should give you confidence, 10 mins ago Boro fans didn’t know they were in for Iheanhacho. Now they are. Could be us any moment
I'm relaxed. It's clear we are in the market for players and we have the financial means to bring in some quality. I'd also say that I don't think it's the end of the world if we don't bring anyone else in.
