Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs to have included Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham in their target list.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who say the Bundesliga side are ‘in contact’ with the 19-year-old’s camp.

The midfielder has made 13 appearances this season and his displays for Sunderland have seen clubs in England and across Europe take notice.

This includes BVB, and the report claims their officials rate the England U21 international ‘more highly’ than they even did his brother, Jude Bellingham.

The Champions League finalists signed Jude from Birmingham City in 2019 and sold him to Real Madrid for €103m excluding bonuses in 2023. The German club therefore have close ties with the Bellinghams.

Sky state Borussia Dortmund ‘maintain intensive contact’ with the Sunderland star’s family, via chief scout Sebastian Krug. The two parties have talked about a possible deal for Jobe.

At this moment in time, the option of securing the Black Cats man isn’t ‘hot or concrete’. The report states BVB will continue to closely monitor him in action for Régis Le Bris’ side.

His contract lasts until 2028, and Sky claim Sunderland expect €25m to sanction his sale. Borussia Dortmund would face competition from English clubs to sign Jobe.

Feels inevitable he goes in the next 3 windows at best unless we go up and are able to compete in the prem too, the lads ceiling is enormous, enjoy him while he’s here, the exposure he’s getting now playing for the England under 21s probably strengthens our position financially though I’d be wanting £30m minimum

If I may, it's way more than £25 million, when Man Utd enquired through Tony Coton he was quoted over £30 million, that was in sept

I think his agent (his dad?) has the sense to realise if we go up, he is immediately worth more, which means a bigger pay out for Jobe, I am not sweating the January window, unless of course, someone throws £30 million on the table with sell on clauses

Agree, if we dont go up he will be gone, if we go up, he will start 38 PL games so another season with us before leaving might really shoot his development through the roof.....& The fee

Those 2 u21 performances have bumped his value by £3-£4m imo. I dont think he will go in Jan at all. Summer will be different, but no reason at all to think we cant get £40m for Jobe imo. Saying that he might well want to stay here longer, he seems really happy.

I thought it was great to see him and his dad at the Preston game.

The thing is, when he comes back he is one booking away from another ban :(

That’s his own daft fault unfortunately. Hopefully he’s learned a lesson. The card against Leeds was embarrassing, just blocked their lad making a forward run from kick off. Totally pointless but he’s only young so should learn. We need him back firing in the midfield

He has been our stand out player so far this season, just seems a different player from last season
