if we bring a good striker in I’d say this has been a good window. Obviously the proof will be in the performances rest of season, but on paper at least

Yeah I'd agree. They don't, it's been poor. That's the importance and hinge of the positions. 100% been out weak link with the model and transfer policy we have adopted.

Just been speaking to one of my mates who gets info on hearts stuff. The rumour at their end is they have a bid in for a striker, he says its meant to be a decent fee so likely to be as a replacement for shankland

He hasnt heard if they have any bids in for shankland yet but is going to ask around

Yeah, lots of things don't help but it is what it is. 2 years and 3 or 4 windows is enough time to sort and if it isn't, ideals and parameters have to change.

Anyway, they are on with one now. So hopefully it gets sorted.
Any ideas on who mate? Are they experienced etc?

All about the money innit? Coventry paying £8m for Simms, or Ipswich paying Moore £30k pw. Just not going to happen under current ownership
What I am surprised at is that we haven't taken a gamble on a striker from lower leagues like Langstaff. Small cost punt to see if he can do it higher up

Hopefully that's an option they're now considering.

aye. Strikers come at a premium and with that comes risk. We just need to adjust our risk appetite when it comes to strikers

They do. But I'd rather bin off the obsession with wide forwards attackers and reallocate funds to the central position.

wouldn't be surprised if that's rangers in for him

Get your point, but what can change? If (pure speculation) a player asked for £35k a week, should we pay it just to appease? Bad for the club, but the fans are happy?

if a player won’t move up here, do we agree to ferry them from London?

I don’t know if it can change. Moore would be an ideal player at this level. But he’s on £40k a week at Bournemouth or something! Crazy.

Ipswich are a newly promoted team man. If they can afford it why can’t we? They’ve just signed a midfielder who would walk in our team to go with the 2 DM/CM options they already have both of whom have been better than our midfield so far this season.

Its a massive gamble they are doing if it pays off then grand, if they don't get promoted the wheels will certainly come off, we've been in this rodeo before, id rather us sustain and build slowly.

Ipswich aren't trying to be self-sustainable. They will be in masses of debt to their owner and if they don't go up this season they won't be able to spend as much next year due to FFP

Is that actually a cert or just a guess though? They’ve spent barely anything on player fees and nobody knows what wages their players are on apparently as whenever you mentioned wages people are paying quick to say capology isn’t right.

I’d imagine if they don’t go up they’ll have interest in players so a single player sale for £5m+ will just put their revenue right up to do it again?
