This is spot on. A player who reads the ball and recycles the attack like Evans did and we improve. Neil is better there than Ekwah to me because he has the heart for it but Neil can have a tendency to lose a cheap ball there. Mind I wouldn’t have that instead of the 9. Has to be both. Clarke is class but in a way a formation nightmare. He likes to hug the line. I’d be tempted to go a 3 4 3 Rusyn right and a new 9, but that means we need a lwb, a cdm and the 8, a 3 5 2 and we still get Seelts height in for set pieces still need the lwb though and the 9 but maybe the cdm less so. Styles fits either on that left side.Can be at times mate. I think sometimes we are slow to react to losing the ball in and around their box. Then before you know it Ballard or Onien are having to come out to engage the midfield runners. I think (and I say this with a tin hat on) Beale has addressed this to an extent with a bit more structure to our setuo, but at the detriment to our fluidity. It is probably a balance that is hard to find, and is so dependant on that deeper midfielder. Give me just one signing in Jan and it would have to be someone who can improve us in there. Mind you I want 3 at least.
