Have I missed a plethora of other signings in the last 3 weeks, or has the manager said anything other than "nothing is imminent" in recent interviews?
As well as a DM, we need midfielders who can get up the pitch quickly with effective runs. Ipswich did this to us loads of times recently and it was exciting to watch.Played DM for Hungary last year in qualifiers and did well. Sure I saw a game for Milwall last year too where he looked good there. I am not advocating for an enforcer type in DM, I want a player who can link defence and midfield quickly and cleverly, but who can block passing angles and slow counters. Different types of players can be really effective as a deep lying player.

True enough, but the signs aren't exactly encouraging right now. As posted elsewhere, will reserve judgement but am getting concernedwhen do managers say anything else? We never get gossip anymore.
Played him higher up the pitch against Ipswich with Neil holding. Looked much better. Then inexplicably switched them round again v Hull. I’m lost at what we are trying to do at the minute I think the players are as wellEkwak has just been sued wrong and that has shown in the form. Get him 20 yards up the pitch with a proper CDM and he will be fine.
The signs aren't encouraging. 8 days left and yes, most deals happen in last 48 hours of the window but there has to be an element of concern amongst the fanbaseOh well that must mean we’re signing no one then.
I rate him but not as a cdm. He’s do think Ekwah in particular needs competition, so that not back up it’s competition but I’d prefer that competition to be someone who protects our defence and our orchestrates play and I’m not sure from what I know about him this is him.We desperately need a starter at both LB and CM plus probably a number 9. Can't be signing back ups this window mate.
I agree, I don’t like players pretending to be hurt. But he also gets blamed for everything else, Twas an attempt at humour mate.O9's antics on the pitch are embarrassing mate. You'd all be booting off if he was an opposing player. Pretending to be injured while Hull are outside our box says it all. He jumps up once we clear it and people are laughing about it. It's not what I want to see from a leader.

Maybe I stand corrected. Only seen him as an impressive box to box man.Played DM for Hungary last year in qualifiers and did well. looked more to me like we played Ekwah and Neil as a double pivot against Ipswich and just Ekwah on his own against Hull.Played him higher up the pitch against Ipswich with Neil holding. But there probably is in most clubs. Hull fans I know are moaning about not signing a forward despite signing Carvalho and SharpThe signs aren't encouraging. 8 days left and yes, most deals happen in last 48 hours of the window but there has to be an element of concern amongst the fanbase
And help the manager shape the system he wants so he stands a chanceAs well as a DM, we need midfielders who can get up the pitch quickly with effective runs. Ipswich did this to us loads of times recently and it was exciting to watch.
Doesn’t read the game as well as Neil much better 20 yards up the pitchlooked more to me like we played Ekwah and Neil as a double pivot against Ipswich and just Ekwah on his own against Hull.
I think he looks fine as the holding player. Would like to see Styles come in and fill that role though.
Hull are having a good window mind, looks like Ryan Giles is signing for them on loan with an option to buy
As always I'll reserve judgement until 1st Feb but the signs aren't good with 8 days left of the window
From how we finished last season… I feel we have missed a golden opportunity… nearly through 2 transfer windows and still nothing concrete re a striker.. in fact the rumor mill is decidedly underwhelming… but I guess there’s time.. but I fear the worst and hope for the best
