This thread has gone to ****e.

Too many people pissed off with the club for anything and taking it out on anyone who even slightly disagrees or wants to give benefit of doubt.

Conversely, also too many people on the other side who then wind up those who are pissed off more and it snowballs.

Meanwhile the people in the middle who want to stay positive are just caught up. Its no fun.

The reason we don't see service is because there's nobody to give service to! When Clarke, and let's say Roberts or Ba,get the ball, the tactic is to cut inside and try to create a chance....there is no other option. If we had an option to a front runner, we would use it.Whenever the likes of Neil,Ekwah,Jobe or Pritch come forward from central areas, there is only one choice.....give it to Clarke. And,when we do come inside to lay the ball off, they often take the option to lay it back to one of the midfield runners who have no choice but to try their luck from 20 yards out, which, apart from a couple of excellent Ekwah strikes and a worldy from Pritch, inevitably leads to Row Z or worse.

Sadly we are very pedestrian at the back, which is some of the problems.

I’m neither pissed off or positive, I’m just a bit ‘meh’.

I do still enjoy transfer talk though, which this thread was really good for.

Not for me. Doesn't improve the starting 11 at all.

We have Matate who can be used to cover CM.

He isn't a specialist left back either.

We have players who are versatile. We need players who are an immediate improvement or specialists in positions.
Couldn't agree more. We need players for specialist positions. Not players that can fill in here and there when needed.

Just don't see the value in this signing at all. Be another one for the bench when the first 11 requires immediate improvement and specialist positions.

Need to spend some Dosh to get quality in

Not heard anything positive mate?

I dunno like. People crying out for championship experience and he's got it. He improves on Matete. Get Matete out and Styles in and its a good switcheroo.

If he's our only signing its not great. But he definitely improves our squad.

I think he would improve the first 11 personally. That is because we could immediately rest Jobe or Ekwah. I dare say Styles would be better than Jobe personally right now. Plus I could see how he immediately allows a more natural 433 than we could field now. When I have watched him I have fancied him as a holding midfielder, but one who can play. An upgrade on Ekwah, and if we wanted to continue with the 4141 we tried against Hull then him sitting and Ekwah and Neil both getting beyond the striker could be interesting. Just my opinion but I would like him here and I suspect a coaching team would too as it creates opportunities to do different things. I have been advocating for the Plymout midfielder Randell, but this lad is on a par I think.

I also think Styles is better than Ekwah personally. From what I saw at Millwall last season. Ekwah great in flashes but fades in and out. Signing another player that allows him to rest more can only be good.

Never seen him as a holding CDM at all. Just more of a Dan Neil type. Good on the ball and likes the tika but not a CDM who enforces

Love your positivity mate !
Let’s hope we get him and one or two others in

Played DM for Hungary last year in qualifiers and did well. Sure I saw a game for Milwall last year too where he looked good there. I am not advocating for an enforcer type in DM, I want a player who can link defence and midfield quickly and cleverly, but who can block passing angles and slow counters. Different types of players can be really effective as a deep lying player.
