It could be we have limited funds this window so get in a loan or 2 plus one on a perm and reassess the loans in the summer? (Unless we’re obligated to buy) I have nothing to back that up mind just a thought, a big sale is where we will kick on/find out about this model

Styles versatility is key. I think we will predominantly see him initially as an attacking left back to overlap Clarke.
My first thought was it gives us a more natural balance to play 433, with him as the left side of a 3. A midfield 3 of Styles, Neil, Ba might be an intersting propositon. Could arguably play a 10 and two 9s, or 3 across the front. Options anyway would be nice to see.

It's a difficult conundrum mate.

You could say clubs like Birmingham aren't struggling for money because they're spending ...

... but the stadium is a mess and they're deep in debt.

If the current owners fail, which they probably will, they could easily 'do a Short' and just stop. That leaves a failed club that the supporters will expect someone else to pick up and just start the spending again.

It's mind blowing how such a great game has been so ruthlessly destroyed.
if we go and spend abit of money on another player and keep it for him that makes sense
PSG signed Mbappe on loan with an option/obligation originally.

Arsenal have Raya on loan with an option/obligation now.

Villa have Zaniolo on loan with an option/obligation now.

The mags have Hall on loan with an option/obligation now.

It's just a way for clever clubs to get around the financial regulations. But aye lets give our club stick for doing it. Getting so ****ing boring now.
yes after already spending millions and millions of pounds and we're worried By FFP it's nothing like loaning styles

we are not close to FFP

i've also stuck up for the club when it comes to on field stuff never really said out bad about it so i'm not one of them who beats the club at any opportunity like your trying to make out

but loaning a player with obligation to buy in the summer screams to me we are struggling for money

we created between 10-12 million in sales on player in the summer if for instants the club say well that's was are summer window, that's means we haven't spent a penny this season

we are not close To FFP

Unless you are directly involved with the clubs recruitment team you have no idea how many it's or outs there will be
Bobs right more than he’s wrong m8, I’d keep your powder dry until the end of the window and then pronounce, but it’s your call.

Any response to my point that it could be Barnsleys request to have the money arrive in the summer and not now?

Seriously what difference does it make if the player signs now on loan with an OBLIGATION to sign him than signing permanently now. Absolutely none. The constant ****e aimed at the club is putting me off posting here and it's disappointing.

Stewart was a decent sale for this league

and mowbray in the summer said we have all the Stewart money waiting to spend in jan

if the try and say we used it in the summer

and then don't bring anyone in this window for money
it means the owners haven't put a penny in for transfer this season

I wonder if he is initially coming in to fill in at full back with a view to being used as a midfielder next season? He seems to be more of an attacking midfield option rather than the sitter we need

You mean players like Rusyn, etc?

The Stewart money is staggered and we've probably paid out more than has come in ...

. whether you like Mayenda, Pembele, etc, or not, they had to be paid for, not to mention agents fees, etc..
People don't seem to realise that when you sell a player for 10m player you don't usually buy one for the same amount. We sold Stewart cos he felt he was worth a salary akin to a 10m player -30k a week.approx. if we want to sign a 10m player we'd have to pay him 30k a week which just isn't going to happen. We have to be more thoughtful and look at players with potential - like a Clarke - who we can develop. Ideally when the likes of Clarke are sold, we have developed players in background such as Rusyn/Bennette and they can step in seamlessly. Easier said than done

Styles would be a cracking signing and I couldn't care less the route to transfer chosen. Loan with obligation can be for multiple reasons.
I think it’s fair to say Ekwah needs competition, not sure if this is the cdm we want but would comfortably play in a 3 and also might be a lwb if we played 3 4 3 or 3 5 2.

I get what you’re saying but what if it is smart ie we know be have to strengthen a few positions and this enables us to do the others ?

i'm going to be a proper huff here but on loan and then buying him in the summer, sounds to me like we are struggling for money and a are counting on sale in the summer to pay for him, basically getting him on chucky
Not necessarily, a lot of clubs have a loan with option to buy. Have a look at him first let his m settle for n then purchase in the summer
