I think our only hope is United sign another winger which is possible because they’ve just lost one in Sancho. Either way it’ll be the last few days of the window as will most deals.
Henderson going to ajax as they are probably the only team in a top division who would take him, where he can stay out of sight, and still make the euros. Ajax have crawled up the league to 5th, where psv top the table with 17 wins from 17. Massive pay cut from £700k p.w. Probably his best opportunity to keep his euro dreams alive. It's a sad end to his career.
It’s very sad mate, but well deserved.
I don't see it that way at all. Maybe he's realised Saudi isn't all its cracked up to be. Either way, he's seeing out his career at one of the most famous and prestigious clubs in the world, which possible isn't deserved after chasing the dollar (riyal).
You'd think the way people are going on he is the first ever person to make a decision then realised he's made a mistake. F***sake get over it. Everybody in life f***s up at some point life goes on.
People will stick up for him soon and ask why we don't slag any of the others who went there for cash!
Two reasons for me personally:
1. We all kept a eye on his career and were happy to see a Sunderland lad who came through our club go on to win so much but theat eye is equally going to be on him when he does something questionable.
2. And this is the most important bit! You can't be a champion for gay rights and tell gay supporters groups they have a voice in you etc... then **** off to a country where they are shall we say less than accepting of gay people, because you want to grow your bank balance (sorry I meant to say the game of football over there). They turned his rainbow armband grey in all the announcement stuff ffs!
Yeah, I don't think he should have gone there, but leaving this soon suggests he realises he shouldn’t have done it.
They tried to turn the rainbow off? Sportswashing at its best and Henderson was part of it. I always wanted Henderson to do well in his career, unfortunately he's now dead to me.
I agree with you, but... when you or I make a mistake we tend to swiftly apologise for the error. With Henderson signing up with these murderers and taking their £700k p.w. I cannot say we will hear anything soon?
I bet part of the pay off / deal for Henderson to move will contain a clause that he’s not allowed to bad mouth Saudi Arabia. Clever bastards that they are.
....And if he comes back to the UK straight after Saudi he may be taxed on those Saudi earnings.
Exactly plus he was appartently beinh forced out of Liverpool as they needed to clear his wages off their books n the only option he had was moving there
I dont agree with his move at all but i reckon some of our fans hated the move more due to saudis connection to Newcastle than anything else
I thought that as soon as I posted my reply. It's the place they are operating in. Awful regime, awful how they have bought their way in. We need to voice our distaste and protect our values before they are eroded away.

Most would be fine if he said it was a mistake, Christ a big chunk of our support idolised an actual fascist. Personally he’d need to be pretty clear it was a stupid move for me to genuinely respect him but I doubt he cares too much about what I think.
