I wouldn't be surprised to see him used more now. Mowbray didn't fancy him because imo he didn't feel he could get his message across to him (do clubs not here interpreters to translate?) Beale might be happier especially if he speaks a bit of Spanish.

He is very direct and fast as **** and as I said the other day its criminal the amount of times we saw Dack come on to plod about for tbe last 10-15 when Bennette would have created a lot more panick running at a tired defence!

I hope you’re right mate. It’s only a matter of time before we lose Clarke and Jewi is a shoe in for his position. I really rate the lad. It’s always a good sign when they’re getting goals/assist early on. Often think the same about strikers, our most successful ones usually bag a goal in their first couple of games

What is your opinion on the current lot? Did we play in a way that they had much chance of scoring?

I can't remember any having many chances to score.

I honestly believe it was TM's annoyance that the lad couldn't speak English, was the main reason for him not being selected. You could tell it irritated him in interviews

Yeah and unlike the French lads who didn't speak English he didn't have other players to translate.

As I said before why didn't they hire someone to translate alongside teaching him English?

No we haven’t you’re absolutely right. Rusyn looks the best of the crop, also think Jobe could fill a void for us, although he wants to be more of a 6/8 allegedly, albeit he’s not a striker. Burstow has to go back surely, Hemir looks a project but gets himself in the best positions, and mayenda looks more of a winger to me

Takes time with any language, sure all of us on here have attempted/learnt another over the years. Took me two years in Sweden before I was comfortable enough day to day without worrying too much

Aye agree with all of that, I reckon Burstow could get a few if we supply him but what's the point of developing another teams player when he is no better than our own.

For me Rusyn needs to be the regular striker with the other two being used as cover and Burstow going back!

i was really excited when we signed Burstow, but something just doesn’t seem right when he’s on the pitch. Don’t know if he’s settled into the club or what tbh

Thought they brought Arca in for a bit to help him with the language. Obviously not there now with him having the shields job

Bennette has had long enough now to know the language. Learning enough to understand training and teamtalks isnt quick, but it should be done by now. Personally I am just not sure he is good enough and he isnt going to replacing Clarke any time soon.

Yeah, you'd like to think a year and half is more than enough.

I'd personally prefer to see him given a chance ahead of Ba now, who I just don't rate and has had his fair share of chances as well.

Let's see what Beale thinks though.

Tommy Watson may leapfrog Jewi the way he is developing. If Jewi really isn’t happy and we get a decent offer then there is a decent case to let him go.That said I’d rather we gave him a consistent run of appearances to show if he can add some consistency to the talent that’s clearly there.

Neil and Ekwah just have no shape in them as a pairing. Noticed this against Bristol last week. We have a non existent centre midfield when teams break against us. Not sure who’s fault that is or if it’s just a symptom of the system we play

I like Ekwah but if Fulham and them are after him I'd let him go

Watson is better than jewi, havent been overly impressed with jewi when ive seen him for 1st team for the u21s or costa rica - think the move has been too big for him

same as i said last window, an experienced CDM has to be first on the list.

the squad seems to be losing the ability to pass to a team mate at the business end of the pitch, this has somehow happened to one of the best passing squads in the division, while there were expected mistakes along the way due to the young age the 'good bits' allowed for the odd mistake.

we need a set up that enables at least one of the strikers to score a few, jobe is better attacking the box rather than being the target, ba is too weak, clarke and roberts should never be central, ekwah needs taking out of the team for a couple of games to get himself back up to speed (meanng get his head right) and now it looks like onien and huggins will be missing for a few anyway.

needs to be a slight change in 'the plan' this window, experience to help the lads when things go tits up.
