I bet this guy does not even exist.
Just seen a helicopter flying over my house....I'm excited, wonder who it could be.
The good news is his contract with Betis expires in June, so he'll be a free agent for the second time in 2016. That should only set us back around £7m.

i.) Alderweireld is a much better fit for our team in every way
ii.) The only reason Fazio was signed was because a deal for Musaccio fell apart due to third-party shenanigans and Moreno had a broken leg
iii.) Dier is also a much better fit for the team when he's deployed at centre back
iv.) Fazio being paid £45k p/w wages made him one of the club's higher earners, despite being a stop gap signing
v.) Paying £45k a week to our third-choice right-sided centre back is madness - in comparison, CCV is on £10k p/w
...oh, and Ademola Lookman has signed a four-year contract with Charlton.

The suggestion is that Pellegrini is, and always was, a stop-gap manager - that he came in under the expectation that he would stay for only as long as it took Pep to decide to join.
None of us will know if this is true or not, but it would explain why £ity have acted in the way they have, and why Pellegrini appears to be non-fazed by the news.

I'd tend to agree with SD. At WBA, once he's match fit he has a good chance of playing regular football. With us, he'd more than likely be warming his arse on a bench.

Otherwise, it's been the usual diet of a few fringe signings, and a shuffling around of some loan deals.

We have too many talented midfielders. While it’s a good problem to have, any way to hold on to a player who could become important to us when there aren’t minutes to give him is a good one. We bit the bullet and sold Townsend despite my suspicion he’ll be successful on the left. Chadli, Son and Lamela are pushing hard for the one open starting spot, given that Eriksen, Dembélé, Dier and Alli look nailed on. Carroll is proving a very capable reserve player and Onomah needs more minutes. Mason is coming back soon.
Loaning out Bentaleb as well might be a good move, frankly. There’s no doubting his talent, but I’m not sure anyone knows where he should play. He’s not a DM. He could be the other deep lying player, but there’s too much competition on our team. The place he looked best suited was LB, in the one game he played there, IMO. It’s true we’re well stocked there, but I don’t think it’s a certainty that Rose and Davies are better.
