I'm fascinated why they're always Scottish. Is that the only place they have dedicated clubs or whatever? Or is it something deeper/traditional?
Ric?

Yeah,I think it was invented in Scotland and they're really big on it the further north you go.There's a lot of curling Clubs and rinks up the East side of Scotland.I'm fascinated why they're always Scottish. My daughter used to play it when she was at Edinburgh University.Yeah,I think it was invented in Scotland and they're really big on it the further north you go.There's a lot of curling Clubs and rinks up the East side of Scotland.
I wouldn't mind giving it a go but the touch and accuracy required looks huge.I had an old Auntie&Uncle down in Hull(Scottish) and they had an old curling stone as a door stop, they're really heavy and as far as I know they're about £700-800 a stone.
Edit, this is the lake of Menteith(about half an hour-45 minutes from me) They play on it every year providing the ice is thick enough...You must log in or register to see images
How many stones do you pass.It is, I do curling every morning, i'm a very regular man.
Also a sanctuary for various seabirdsAll the stones for Curling come from the Island of Ailsa Craig.
Pretty painful if there as big as those used on the ice!More than i'm happy with.
It's common for a Dr to ask us for a 'stool' sample,Rover is asked for a 'stone' sample....Pretty painful if there as big as those used on the ice!

This Bruce Mouat lad is on his arse, needs sacking after this Olympics.
been jenk in the curling, men women and mixed, just not good enough is my expert opinionNot really concentrating on it but that last shot. He had plenty of room to just draw it in. No need to hit their stone. Just had to touch anywhere in the green circle.
What am I missing?

That could be the stone that changes their fortune,it was a brilliant shot.Amazing finish to keep us alive in the last 'end'? of the women's curling...
