im no curling expert but what the **** were some of those shots GB tried? Tried to do way too much too often and kept getting it wrong. Well deserved battering.

I think the British Olympic team where am expecting a couple of medals by now .
Could end up being a very disappointing haul .

There was a programme on the i player in the run up. It might still be there.
The presenter was coached and sent down the skeleton run.
The memorable advice was along the lines
"if you dont relax you will crash"
"The G forces are incredible and your face will be pushed into the ice so you won't see where your going"

All fun I suppose.

They played on TV today...

If your life depended on it and you had choose...

Luge or Skeleton

Which would be your choice?

Luge

I'd choose Skeleton, with the rationale that if I'm going to get maimed / die, I'd rather see it coming than having an involuntary gender reassignment in a crash...

Reminds me of the time mr mackay got on the auto feed saw table feet first, until mr slave pointed out it would be far less painful to go head first.

So he turned around.

I know Australians are well renowned for being absolutely nuts but does anyone else find it a bit odd that a country well known for its hot summery weather has so many top level winter sports athletes?

They have Ski resorts in Australia plus they also have a training institute in Northern Italy

Yeah they do but my understanding is their conditions are very temperamental. To have so many athletes competing for medals across the board just surprises me. The likes of USA, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria etc have long and reliable winters for kids and young adults to really hone their craft year on year. It’s one thing flying out for training camps once you’re of an age and an ability for it but you’ve got to get there first.

I suppose most get their parents to drop them off.

Yes you would think we would have more challenging with our close proximity to European ski resorts .
I know we have a program with Norway for our slalom skiers
