I see that Ryan Hardie has been loaned to Huddersfield from Wrexham....he played 6 league games for them....no goals or assists.

I watched the Liverpool v Manchester City Premier League game yesterday, which was obviously a very hard fought game.

There were 6 yellow cards in all, of which 4 went to Manchester City, who engaged in the normal time wasting tactics towards the end. Liverpool also had Szoboszlai sent off in the very last minute in a situation far to complicated to explain.

What was noticeable in this game, and indeed in Brighton V Crystal Palace that preceded it, was the almost complete absence of pushing, holding and blocking in open play that plagues League 1. Obviously, the dark arts are deployed at set pieces, but not elsewhere. Why is this the case?

We were soundly beaten on Saturday but I don't think it's just partisan to say that Lincoln a a big side and they certainly deployed that strength in legal and not-so-legal ways all afternoon. Why do League 1 referees not penalise it? If the fans can see it, why cant the refs?

On a similar topic, I have to say I don’t understand why this is the case.

Some might point at Tom Cleverley’s own poor disciplinary record but I don’t subscribe to that. Most of these things occur on the spur of the moment or in a particular situation in active play. No one out there is going to stop and think “what would Tom Cleverley do?”.

I’ve watched all the home league games bar one and all the away games that have been televised. We are not a particularly dirty side, no worse than anyone else and a lot better than some.

What are your opinions Joe and Sensible?

Like you I've seen all but one home games this season. I have watched many fouls or what the Refs consider to be fouls in some cases. You are right we are definately not any worse than any other club. We do tend to gob it off at the Ref at times though and IU suspect that quite a few of the yellows is for dissent rather than foul play. Saturday was an example of that. Point I would make though is the Referees have been so bad for most of the season gobbing off at them is almost understandable. I and the crowd do it all the time....... Also, and of course I'm a little prejudiced, I genuinely think the Refs have had it in for Argyle a bit this season. I have watched opposition players get away with some shocking tackles and even on occasions not even conceed a free kick. We have had reds for less than some not even a yellow and only a yellow at worst.

We're going to find it difficult to get players to come to us if the end result is getting injured.

Or we need to be more careful about bringing in players who are easily injured.....

It's bad news but it's one of those things. There's no evidence anyone at the club is going anything wrong. He is 32 and has played 400 senior games. But it was that experience we wanted.

Bringing in "iffy" players seems to be a standard situation for Argyle.....it's all to do with "chancing" a player who has known ability in the past...but the "wear and tear" of physical action over the years have had a "toll" on their fitness levels now.....it's hoping that they can keep fit.....and of course that problem that they have now... brings the price within our range to take the gambol.....the problem is that their old injuries inevitable reoccur again more often than not.....and we just hope that we get enough of the player to off-set what we paid for them.......Brendan Galloway is such a player....and maybe we have broke even over the time that he has been with us.

We have a young squad. Ralls was recruited in large part because of his experience at a higher level than we’re currently playing at. Experience requires age.

Our injury record does need investigating. But let’s not start dragging the whole club through the mire.

In my opinion, he did well in the games he played in. A strong leadership figure, exactly as intended. He did exactly what it said on the box.

Oh, by the way, what's the effect of long coach journeys on fitness?

It's public knowledge that relegation from the Championship was a significant financial shock, which Simon Hallett has covered by putting additional loan monies into the club. Nevertheless, I imagine there are fewer overnight stays and I haven't heard of any flights to the very distant games.

Does that have an effect? It's a very physical game these days......

I do not believe there are fewer overnight stays. The days of the team coach leaving at 3 in the morning have long gone both for us and visiting clubs. One motorway accident and they are scuppered. Coming back yes but not going. The other thing is the injuries. So how do we compare with all of the other clubs with this? Are we worse or is it just that we only see our own. I think a lot of the problem now is the number of games they play. 46 in the league plus a possible double figure more in other competitions. If somebody is even only just prone to something then that is not going to help and once a problem sets in it just gets on the repeat list. You need to remember that it's not like running around for a couple of hours when you were a kid where you could do it everyday. This is full on competition at a very high level even in leagues one and two.

I quite agree.

The level of fitness required is much greater than in days of yore and you don’t get many seconds on the ball before the challenges start coming in. The same is required in reverse when you’re on the defensive.

He's barely featured this year and this has been the buzz for over a month at least. Several rumours about him going to several places so even if the place was wrong the leaving bit wasn't. Best of luck to him but I think his head left the club when we got relegated.

On the subject of duff Referees.....I watched the Aston Villa v Newcastle game on the TV yesterday.....how on earth did that Ref give Newcastle only a free kick two yards outside the penalty area when in fact the foul took place two yards inside the penalty area.

This followed on from Villa's goal which to most people watching was off-side......in fact two Villa players where off-side when the ball was kicked....possibly maybe three.....the scorer was the most off-side of all of them.

At least the Villa keeper made the Refs job easy regarding his sending off....it was nearer attempted murder than a football foul.

Being the FA Cup.... so-called technology wasn't being used......in the end the unfairness of it all evened out and the right team won in the end.

Well i agree i dont think we are a dirty team, we get a share of the cards some yes alot no. We can mix it up, Watts is firey and i always feel he treads on a red .. but i would not take that out of his gamne we need more of him at times.

The refs are uselees i havent seen any and seem to be getting worse..

Tom Cleverley said at Mondays News Conference that Lorent Tolaj was fit to start against Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
