Rumours on pasoti that Cleverley has resigned....and an emergency board meeting is taking place.

Must state that this is only a rumour about Cleverley...but those in the club have stated that a board meeting is happening.
 
Northampton a very average side....but they where organised and disciplined.....everything that Argyle are not.

No one seems to know if Cleverley is going or staying....typical of PAFC at the moment.
 
Watch game video.....and watched Tom Cleverley post match chat.....all a bit depressing.....I do feel sorry for Cleverley......the problems that the club is going through at the moment would be hard work for an experienced successful manager........Cleverley is still learning his trade and didn't need this job on his portfolio.....just too difficult for him.

Rather chaotic after the match with reports of Cleverley resigning and of an emergency board meeting going on.......what a mess.....just need some good luck to come our way.
 
Absolute load of balony that anyone should feel sorry for Cleverley. You can see a mile off that the players have no confidence and that HAS to be down to the manager. That is his job above all things to instill confidence and Cleverley has no idea how or what to do. That is the basic task of amanager and if he can't do it then he has no business trying to immitate a football manager in the first place.
 
Tom Cleverley surely cannot last much longer......when the ill founded rumour that he had resigned was messaged on pasoti after the 0-3 humiliation result......a great hope started to spring up and so many people started to post with this hope in their hearts that the nightmare was ending.

Then their hope was scotched as not true....and Cleverley did his post match interview that allowed the clouds to cover over all the hope that had sprung up.........the only result now can be his resigning or his sacking to save the day.

When Tolaj reacted to his shirt being pulled....the frustration of the green army spilled over.....and as he walked around the ground he was actually being applauded.

Watching the end of the match video was rather telling......the aisles where full of leaving greens who couldn't wait for the final whistle......the team had actually left the field when they went one nil down.
 
Many morons who don't have the wit to realise:
  1. Sacking a head coach right before a transfer window is likely to hinder rather than help.
  2. Sacking a head coach will mean a period without anyone at the helm which is unlikely to help results.
  3. Sacking a manager costs money which could otherwise be spent on players.
  4. The last transfer window (when we had no head coach) was largely to blame. We recruited players with promise but little experience and assumptions were made about playing style. We have a surfeit of centre backs and no conventional full backs other than Joe Edwards for example, so we cannot play a traditional Back 4.
 
Sacking a head coach before a transfer window is a sign of hope....and might attract new signings in January.....going into a transfer window with a failing head coach will not attract ANY decent signings......in fact Freda the tea trolley lady would be hard to replace at the moment....those that really care about Argyle would have hoped that this failing head coach would have been gone a month ago....it's all about the heavy anchor chain of a three year contract that we had handed out so easily to a inexperienced coach.......Simon Hallett has done some great things for the club in his 7 years.....but his lack of football experience is starting to show up badly.....and with him owning nearly all the shares in the club....there is no easy solution.
 
It's over for Tom Cleverley....anyone can see that.....any team that gives up when going 1-0 down...are showing that they have no faith in the managers methods....the longer this goes on the harder it will be to avoid relegation.....and harder to attract ANY PLAYERS TO JOIN US in the new year.
 
So you think it's a positive to recruit players and then potentially have a new coach come in after that and say - "oh, I don't want to play that formation, I like a 6:1:3 me" or "ah, I knew him at Cloggers United and he slept with my wife".
 
It is certainly better than doing nothing....I admire you faithfulness to the head coach notDistant......and you would be my first choice to place the deck chairs in neat rows on the Titanic as it's stern sinks to over 45 degrees as it goes down.

BUT no owner,,,,no director...no player...no staff ...no fan...should come before the survival of PAFC....it has been a league club since 1920.....and nearly disappeared in recent history....how can we forget that so easily.....Cleverley is dead in the water and will drag Argyle into oblivion with him if nothing isn't done very quickly.
 
One word to say or two if you do it in full......Derek Adams. Already here, knows the club and could do a job for the rest of the season.
 
Derek Adams short term maybe.....but I haven't forgot the weeks before his sacking what a mess it became under him.
 
Nobody, except those calling for “Hallett Out”, are envisaging Argyle ceasing to exist.

I’m merely pointing out that we’re in the mess we’re in because we went through a transfer window without a head coach in place in the summer and these are the results.

You are proposing to do the same again, bearing in mind these things don’t start on the day the window opens but well before.

Maybe it would all work wonderfully. Maybe it wouldn’t. You’ve got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya?
 
But the alternative is more of the same.....kamikaze pilot comes to mind......we need action now....however nice a man Cleverley is...he hasn't got the tools for this job.....we have to change to an experienced manager that has been here before and knows the answers.....at the moment it is the blind leading the blind.
 
It’s not necessarily more of the same.
  1. Players returning from injury, particularly Watts and Amaechi, who really impressed me early in the season. We’ve been really unlucky with injuries - or are doing something wrong in training and preparation.
  2. Hopefully money well spent in the upcoming transfer window. Unlike many clubs, we are financially secure and have money to spend. That’s due to Simon Hallett who some seem to want “sacked”.
  3. The longer term potential to bring in new investors. Admittedly, it’s proved difficult to find the right people so far. I didn’t win £195m in the Euromillioms lso I’m out unfortunately.
  4. Finding the right shape and tactics - and this is down to Cleverley. Unlike some (eg Muslic) he doesn’t seem to have preconceived and predetermined ideas. Perhaps that’s a weakness - or a strength - depends if it works - or doesn’t. He seems to have thought he was onto a winner after the Port Vale game but that certainly didn’t work on Saturday when we didn’t score in a fairly decent first half. That’s the key area to work with Adams on PDQ, both in relation to immediate results and in transfer activity. What Cleverley is saying though is that the players didn’t deliver the plan against Northampton rather than that the plan had changed. Is that due to inexperience in the squad? Bad luck? Or the fact young players are now scared ****less of turning out in a front of a hostile HOME crowd and are happier playing away? Think on that one before you sing “Not fit to wear the shirt”.
 
Yes having Caleb Watts back will be good......but why did Exeter let him go so easily.....because he is injury prone is the answer.

The problem is we have got to many known injury prone players on our books.....Brendan Galloway has been one that we have gambled on for a few years recently.....half a seasons availability seems to be the norm....so rather annoying that he came back from an international break crocked......Jack McKenzie came from Aberdeen carrying an injury and has spent the whole season so far unavailable moving from one injury to the next..... Julio Pleguezuelo has various issues...including knee surgery...Ayman Benarous had an history of injuries at Bristol City and has brought them to Argyle....Joe Ralls long time at Cardiff came to an end with injuries being a reason he was let go......and there are too many other in the squad injured at the moment....are they just unlucky or are they injuries that will reoccur....hopefully not so.

Those supporters shouting that, are not fit to be in the Stadium, its not going to make it any better. Like you say the players are playing well and young, they dont want a load clowns singing that. also sack the board,, JOke

They aren’t only young of course: most of them are new to the club this year, so as far as they are concerned, it’s always like this. They’ve never seen how ye support usually is and must assume this is the norm.
