But the 19.04 chant still needs a countdown to it and the versions sung in the second half on Thursday where taken up by more of the crowd.

Thats the whole problem with HCST and it will always be the problem, trusts founded out of protest cannot ever fully represent the supporter base. On here Fez points out that Dean Windass may not be a good role model to go into the community, but what about some members of HCST? Are they good role models?

Everything to do with public support involves credibility and that is going to be HCST biggest challenge.

You and I will always disagree about protest, I accept that. As I see it, the old CTWD would have by now come up with a statement about Dean Windass, along the lines of you disagree with his use of the term Hull Tigers, but do not condone the attacks on him on twitter, but now?

You are entitled to your own opinion, Chazz. What he has done within his own family is his and their affair, if you wish your children to consider him as a great life example then that is your affair, but I would not wish any authority promoting Windass as a lifestyle icon to any of my children, so I suggest you hold him up to the light of your children privately, not on a broadbrush basis.

It seems you speak for 'everyone' again, Chazz.

The Allams aren't actually appealing the name change.

    They're appealing the FA process.

As the FA followed there rule book nothing can be done.

Surely the focus should be on us staying in the league, rather than fannying about with the name? That has to be the most pertinent focus for everybody at the club. No good being called 'Hull Tigers' and playing in The Championship. We really don't need any more distractions at the moment, but this issue just will not go away. Allam is just too conceited and pig-headed to let this drop.

You open up a wider argument, about the limitations the HCTS has set itself; tactically, can it be as effective as it was in the guise of a one-sided campaign group?

The point you make (above) I totally agree with and have said so previously; not addressing this makes any support of the HCST untenable.

So are the FA then going to admit they didn't follow their own process correctly?

But who do you speak to about it other than on here Fez?

At least two influential members of CTWD have said to me that they now think Assem Allam will succeed. Even if it is rejected now there is nothing in the FA rules to stop any number of applications by a club, it could apply every season and unless Assem Allam can find a buyer willing to pay what he wants for the club, what has he got to lose by resubmitting his application time and time again.

You've just taken your argument to a whole new level - you're talking about 'supporters' who are not controllable, not easily identified as actually being members and hardly representative, just as those who go to extremes from the opposite viewpoint are not representative. I would, though, make the observation that pro-Hull Tigers has its very roots in lies, deception, manipulation and bullying, so I guess some things are led by example. <ok>

If the FA allow the name change they will face a huge backlash from the wider football family. It would open them up to a legal challenge because Hull City did not comply with the Premier league rules in making its original application.

It could lose control of its right to decide on name changes, club strips, ground naming rights and many other things if parliament passes legislation to ensure supporters are consulted.

On top of all that there is the response between now and the end of the season from Hull City supporters.

Most of those against the name change keep going on about the history of the club but turn on one of the very legends who was a key part of that history.
It's a very sad indeed, those who booded should hang their heads in shame we don't need supporters like that.
