If we make it a fast paced, physical game I wonder if your players will fancy it considering the CL. Could all be dictated by how we do in Norwich and you lot in Madrid.
Both teams may drop points outside of April 27, but you can afford to It is unlikely in terms of probabilty that both sides will win their other three games.
Hypothetically if both teams did win their other 3 games - a draw for us in our game is enough, due to City ****ing it last night. Which means you'll have to take risks, and our attack thrives off teams taking risks. Or we could borrow the routemaster and play for the draw (not likely with Rodgers). Looks like it's a 2 horse race now - may the best team win
We won't take risks until the last 25 mins. That's not the way Jose rolls. If we keep you out til half-time Jose will be happy. A draw maybe enough for us just to keep the pressure on. You could drop points v Norwich or Palace etc, as we could against Cardiff etc. If we could take it to the last game of the season considering our CL commitments that would be great.
Buzzing after last night and hope our players are too. Title now back in our hands. We just have to make sure we win this weekend to ensure a win at Anfield would take us top. Drop points this weekend and Anfield becomes a damp squib all of a sudden. Our success could be our undoing though with 2 massive C.L games coming up as well. This more than any other stage of the season is where no European football is going to aid Liverpool massively. Can't believe City dropped points having gone in front after 2 mins.
Frankly I don't think you have the tools to play for a draw. Should be a fascinating game, as long as we are within 2 points of you come game time that is!
True, and we won't be playing for a draw - that's just not the Rodgers way. I'd rather us go out fighting than park the bus and hope for the best. If we go a couple of goals up then yeah he'll make some tactical changes to tighten things up, as when we played City we went 2 up and kept pushing for more - whereas I believe we should have made a tactical change before letting City back in. Rodgers is brilliant from learning from his mistakes and applying them so we don't make the same mistake again. I can't wait for this game, should be a cracker.
I think that's the key to this game. We always storm teams right from the off, high intensity pressing and bursting attack play. If you go in at half time 0-0, then I think you'll get something from the game. But with our pace in attacking areas, I can't see us not scoring in the first half to be honest.
Think we can get second now. Three wins will be enough if City lose to Everton. 84 points would be a great season with no striker
Well the media have already decided Liverpool have won the title and Bayern have got Europe in the bag so we've nothing to lose on either front.
I agree that we've done well considering the contribution from our strikers. A twenty goal striker would have wrapped this up for us by now.
I wouldnt say that, the media just contain a few that would like to see us win it as we are playing sublime football at times Couple of points to this thread, nice to see some say we deserve it which I assume is down to scoring the most, attacking, nice football etc And also, us fans know we havent won anything, achieving CL was our aim, once thats achieved then job done. Anything else is a bonus No one gave us a chance at beginning of the season. In fact, no one tipped us for the title because 'that was the only thing we had to concentrate on' and now thats why we're challenging, apparently Also to say you have no strikers is pretty unreal, Torres, Ba, Eto'o, all good players. Surely Jose should be able to get them them firing. 62 million worth in Torres and Ba!
