I think we have a great realistic chance of getting to top 6 now, especially if we get a result at Sheffield.
Agree Spanish, 5th or 6th quite possible.

Play-offs, hmm, if we are on a roll and all players are fit and Norwood is stomping all over the pitch and bangs one in
we could get thru. But, in all honesty I am happy if we get top 6 and dont want to raise my hopes too much.

If you had asked me this when we sacked Paul Cook (or in his final days at the club), I would have said 'no'. I still think play offs is a big ask, and if McKenna manages to get us in the play offs - it would be a big achievement for him and the team. We're in brilliant form - four wins out of five is automatic promotion quality - but I think we'd struggle to replicate anywhere near that in March or April. Hopefully teams like MK Dons, Oxford, and Plymouth continue their erratic form and teams like Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday don't take full advantage. I think if we can get to the 75-77 point mark, we'll be there.

I agree with nuggets, will be a tough ask.
It will all come down to what we get against the 5 teams we are directly in competition with in the next couple of months. If we can get 10 points from those 5 games, will be a huge step, as we also have a tough run in with the probable top two in April....bring it on

I’ll answer in a couple of weeks. If we beat Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons winning three of our next four I’ll say yes. If we lose both then unless we get six points from Gillingham and Doncaster we’ll have too much ground to make up.

Somewhere in the middle and it’s not over, wait and see.

I think the top four are out of sight unless we keep winning nearly all of our games. Not impossible but we have to be far more solid at the back.

I'll stick to my prediction and say we'll still have something to play for on the last day of the season, so I think we'll finish 6th or 7th, all comes down to the last day

I am a tad more optimistic, 5th or 6th, then all the dramas of play-offs.

I am hoping for a good result today, but think a draw would be ok in the circs.

If we keep up the run of form since KM was appointed the playoffs look nailed on (if)!

All the games in hand teams around us have make it hard to judge just how close/far away we are.

Even without taking the games in hand in account. We still require a two games at minimum to get top 6. So realistically it may not be until March we see a table that puts us in the top 6.

That's a long time to keep up this form and we are Ipswich.
But KM has impressed so far so I think we can make 6th, but it'll be very tight.

It doesn’t change our points target of 70-75 points.

It doesn't. But it shows how far off the actual pace we are.

Oxford is only need to make up 21 points in 18 games. While we only have 17 games to get 29.

Ultimately it's a sport, anything can happen until it's mathematically impossible, but it feels like too many teams have a better chance at reaching 70 points than us at the moment, and if they get there before us, our target points total only gets bigger.

Hate being pessimistic so I'll agree it's still possible and we can only control our own form.
