If people like listening to the managers interviews then you should be really against Still. He can barely talk based on his MNF appearance

Think it’s as risky an appointment we could realistically make, so it’s a big no from me.
Most manager appointments are risky, no guarantees at all.
Hurzeler at Brighton had 2 years at St Pauli in Germany before getting the Brighton job.
Frank had 3 years at Bronby before getting the Brentford job.
Two examples of risky appointments that have worked out.

Apparently Still is quite defensive-minded, which this season would have been handy.

Not sure it would suit us in the Champ though.

Anyway, seems like a nice guy.

I agree with that, and if we were in the PL or not at such a huge advantage for next year compared to 90% of the league then I’m all for taking as big a calculated risk as possible. Next year we should be looking at as small a risk as possible to get us straight back again

Think he just adapts to the opponents unlike RM.
Has beaten the likes of PSG, Marseille etc with considerably weaker teams by playing counter attacking football, but likes a high pressure intense style most of the times.

Lequipe reporting that still rejected an approach from Rangers and Southampton and Hull have the strongest interest in him?
Guess if he’s coming to England due to his partner, we would be favourites as she’s based in London?

Yes but when we’re 12 points clear with 4 games to go we can sing, to the Viera song,
Will Stilllll wowowo
Will Stilllll wowowo
He came to us from France
No one game him a ****ing chance

Either way; be it Still, Rohl or random option C… as much as we can with any other appointment, we’ve got to “trust” (as much as we can) the process behind it.

Whilst as Saints fans, we’ve every right to be sceptical, this is exactly what Spors has been bought in for… Reading his interview on TNT the other day, he seems as happy as he can be that all his ducks are all in a row in terms of recruitment, so I’ll assume he’s got a good idea in terms of managerial appointment too.

FWIW, my reading of it all is that we want Rohl, but the likelihood is, he’s being touted by bigger clubs than us that are prepared to offer more attractive packages, etc.

I know if this happens, it’ll still get spun by Saints fans that were not ambitious enough or some waffle. Some fans might have to accept we’re not the big draw as a club that they want us to be. We all know we’re in a bit of a mess behind the scenes.

If it’s Will Still, previous record doesn’t bother me personally, has he got determination, desire to succeed and a philosophy that matches where Spors wants us to be? If it’s yes, then welcome on board. (as it goes, I thought the Monday night football thing he did, he came across OK… had ideas and could justify them, I’ve seen and heard RM since his departure a few times and still I don’t believe even he believes his own hype as to what he was trying to do)

As other posters have said, whilst everyone’s preference is to go straight back up, we all know we weren’t ready to when we did last time. The result in the final papered over some pretty big cracks and we took one hell if a beating as a result. If it takes two seasons of growth and development as a club, so be it.

If we don't get Rohl it is because we wanted to save a few £m by waiting to hire him as a championship club.

We enquired in Jan, Rohl want to leave but Wednesday demanded full compensation.

Now we don't know the exact figures but manager compensation is significantly lower than player. Likely £3m or £4m extra at most.

Or, it’s because he sees other clubs as a better option…. We can enquire all we like, since January, he’s on the lists for other clubs, if he wants to go elsewhere, money probably isn’t the issue.
