Can a manager just resign - like most other jobs? I guess in the case of the crazy SW owner he’d try and send Rohl to prison!
They can, but the club he left are still entitled to compo if he wants to take another job during the length of the contract they orginally signed.
With all the changes that will be taking place over the summer (lots of players in and out), I really think we need to get the manager in ASAP. Regardless of if we have to pay more in compensation, we can't afford to have a slow start to the season.
Marti Cifuentes put on gardening leave by QPR after it came out that he entered talks with WBA without permission
I was on holiday but when I checked the result I remember thinking my phone must have water in it - we never win our first match of the season!
Yeah we all live in hope & optimism is high especially 1st game of season but we smashed them that day. Hammond’s goal was the icing. Cracking start to the season.
https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...ty-post-in-potential-southampton-blow-5108835 Am starting to get the feeling Rohl will end up elsewhere.
I know a lot of people are hoping for Rohl. Personally I don’t get it. Has he really done much anywhere else. Is it just that he was assistant coach to Hassenhutl. I don’t suppose many very good managers will be looking to come here though
We've had this discussion dozens of times on here. Yes he has done quite a bit, a lot of it as assistant manager but he's worked at some high profile teams with high profile managers.
There was a rumour that Rohl was the brains behind Ralph's successful spell. By all accounts , we was admired by the players
Danny Rohl went round and shook the hand of all of the journalists after Sheffield Wednesday's last game of the season today "I will not forget this place. It doesn’t matter what happens now. To have such a relationship, such a belief, such a hope, such a respectful togetherness - it will be part of the bottom of my heart."
Bit OTT imo. He’s been there a year and half and it feels like he’s been doing a goodbye tour doing this kind of thing every week for the past month.
Been there two years and it's been his first managerial job in crazy circumstances, don't think it's particularly OTT to shake some hands and say he'll always have a fondness for the club in response to a question
He joined October 2023. That’s a year and a half. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what he’s said or done, he seems like a nice guy. But what I’ve found OTT is that I’ve seen this kind of comment or action for what feels like every week for a month or so. Why I said I find the farewell tour OTT, not this act alone. I get it’s all probably in response to questions so what else is he supposed to do, but whatever. I’m irritable in the heat and with Saints so just leave me to be a grumpy old man by myself
