not saying you are disputing it mate. im saying it wasnt anything to do with H&S as it just doesnt add up.
his reasons to abandon the game is due to thunder and ligthning being too dangerous for 1) the fans and 2) the players.
1) the fans..... apparently lightning hit the away stand (it was the pylon then stand then pylon but story changed back to the hitting the stand again). if it was dangerous for the fans why were they then not evacuated? why were they kept in this unsafe stand? players taken off the pitch and fans still kept in the stand for the 10 mins break and when announced game abandoned they were still not evacuated from the stand. fans at the game said no lightning hit the stand. even wycombe fans admitted this. there was no risk to the fans at all. otherwise fans would have been removed from the risk to their H&S.
2) the players..... the thunder/lightning started just before 2nd half started and continued until 67th min. 5 questions needs to be asked if there was a risk to those on the pitch. they are... 1) if there was a risk/danger to anyone on the pitch, why was the 2nd half allowed to start? 2) why was the 2nd half allowed to continue for 22 mins if the thunder/lightening was so unsafe? 3) if there was a risk/danger to anyone on the pitch, why was the groundsman allowed to go on the pitch with a metal fork during the 10 min break? 4) if there was a risk/danger to anyone on the pitch, why was the subs allowed to stay on the pitch during the 10 min break? 5) if there was a risk/danger to anyone on the pitch, why was the rovers manager and players allowed to return to the pitch and clap the fans for their support?
doesnt sound good does it from a H&S view?
