The best reason for not defying Nature, is that she usually slaps us down. Working with, and learning from Nature is the route to success. For example, nearly all our medicines are based on plant lfe. At one time, the local witch used to go out and pick them, make potions from them and cure illnesses. Today, it's more refined and once we've learned from the plants, we can analyse their properties and manufacture medicines. But we learn from Nature. Defying her would be very, very dangerous.

The Japs push mother nature too far at times, cutting fins off sharks and chucking them back in the ocean to die a slow death. Nature responds by wreaking havoc on their country, with Tsunami's and earthquakes, sometimes hitting their nuclear reactor.

I actually don't believe in Karma to be honest, so I don't believe anything like what I've just written above, but it does excuse me from having to show any sympathy to the backwards people from that part of the world when things go tits up.

I don't believe in anything 'supernatural' mate, as an Atheist, I don't entertain the plausibility of external control of any sort. I do like the idea of it mind, it is entertaining and probably makes for some great film plots over the years.

Things happen where I can say "That served you/them right for being such an idiot", but I don't think of it as Karma as such.

Same as the law of attraction, I think that anybody sitting there, thinking positively in the hope that it will make a difference is deluded, the part that brings you luck and success is the part where you get up and earn it, and anybody who attributes success to the law of attraction is doing themselves a disservice and meriting their own success to something completely non-existent.

What is Karma?

Hey mate, for me it's when someone makes a life changing decision that affects you and your family for life. The easy option is to take matters into your own hands but for me as a father with my daughter as my priority I let karma take it's place, I just don't think you can **** people over without paying the consequence.

Ah right, I'd have to disagree in that case ...... I've seen people get away with murder and laugh about it.

Of course they'll eventually die or stub their toe on the bed-frame but that would happen anyway wouldn't it?

Karma to me mate

Fair do's mate, part of my belief is that as long as what somebody believes makes them a good person, I'm all for it.

I try not to be patronising or ridicule any beliefs, it's in my nature to embrace people for who they are rather that what they believe in on an individual basis. From time to time, well quite often actually, I'll mock religion on the whole, but that's just for comedy value rather than a passion of mine and I never aim to insult anybody individually for whatever they choose to believe unless they are preaching at me.

Out of interest, do you comprehend a 'selfless task' or are you always mindful that you may be rewarded for it further down the line, in a Karma way?

I'm pleased this has lead to a bit of debate and not just slaughtering my op, As for karma I suppose I believe there's something in it I don't believe in coincidence but actions having equal consequences is something I don't buy just look at the type of people who have controlled the world's wealth in the last 200 years and even further back they aren't saints probably the opposite

Yeah mate I respect that, I think it's a tricky subject tbf. I'm not religious at all but as I've stated above I hold karma in high regard through some torment in the family, I know it may sound silly but that's what gets me by instead of taking things into my own hands and my daughter missing out on her father.. These days I'm definitely selfless, why? Because I was a selfish prick at one time in life and once I opened up and respected myself with humility and courage I was able to move forward. It felt good to own up id done something wrong instead of putting the finger if you know what I mean, I'm a better man for it mate. The selfless tasks become a norm when your comfortable within yourself..
