Why did a rivalry never develop between Liverpool and City?

Well, as far as I know I am a community of 1 here in my little village in Somerset. However, there are at least 6 people who support LFC. Now I am more Scouse than they are but I wouldn't even try and measure my passion for LFC against theirs.

Now I've got to be Scouse 'cos I have an Uncle who lives in New Zealand who's a Toffee.

Big clubs always have cling ons from afar , they now depend on them to survive .

So is that supposed to mean that both I and they are not real supporters? You don't know how many games they attend. You don't know how long they have been supporting LFC. That's just a silly comment.

My Uncle Allan who lives in New Zealand has only been back to the UK 3 times since they emigrated in the 60's. Each time he has ensured that he could catch at least one match at Goodison. Even now, in his 90's he'll Skype or text me after every Everton game - and have a right go if Liverpool lose! Is he any less a Blue because he lives on the other side of the World?

He was born in Liverpool ? If so thats completely different , why would someone who comes from Cheltenham , Kettering support Liverpool or United ? The old family trick is used far too much , in short if we were all like the the bigger clubs then there would only be the bigger clubs to support , I salute the Rochdale , Scunthorpe and York City fan , why would someone from there support a team they have no affiliation with ? Anyway we digress , I am off now for a pint .
