You would like that because it would seem convenient to your argument , I am not arsed in the slightest as I said my family on my mothers side two generations back are from County Cork and I go there once possibly twice a year , if I was an orangeman as well (i'm not at all by the way) what would that matter in the debate ? Are all orange order people catholic hating ? You seem to want them to be but I know a couple of people who are in there and have married catholics , times move on , you seem to want to be Irish ? As a matter of note , are you Irish ? It seems you want the accolade of being the most Irish something or other , be happy with who you are I say , Liverpool is rightly proud of its Irish heritage but there is far more than the simplistic one of people coming over from Galway wanting a job 100 years ago .
Tbh you've done your best to deny scousers the right to call/class themselves as Irish with counter claims, but i was just messing with you mate and it was fun having a bit of banter.
What exactly an I denying ? Liverpool has rich history of Irish people here from all faiths and long may that continue , you seem to want a monopoly of Irishness in the UK , bizarre indeed .
? I haven't stated that in this thread so where are getting that from? From your first post on the thread you've been putting a counter argument against everything to do with Liverpool/Irish connections. very bizarre and very negative indeed.
There's many places all over the world with multi cultural backgrounds, so I cannot see what the issue is.
Probably. For me the rivalry with Liverpool has already lost a bit of its edge. It's like taking the piss out of the kid at school who used to boast about how rich his family was and tell everyone about his dad's new car, but now his dad has lost his job, he gets free meals and turns up in wearing last year's patched up uniform. You know he deserves to have the piss taken on a massive level, but somehow it just feels cruel...
I am not trying to counter or deny anything , with every post you type you sound more plastic Irish . Liverpool has huge undeniable Irish connections , where and why would I deny that ? Well I have not . Right I am off to book my holiday , going with my wife and our two friends who happen to be Irish but live in Liverpool , happily Irish and British and Scouse now together happy as one .
Yep. What I also dont get is when Liverpool fans say United will eventually decline because it happened to Liverpool................. does that mean all Uniteds 'glory supporters' will hang around after the glory days have gone and become delusional morons spread all over the world spouting bitter rubbish about whoever happens to be the better team............like Liverpools none scouse fanbase did?
Page and gomarchingin, Just ****ing stop it! I'm more Scouse than either of you (by dint of longevity!) and I'm Manx and Scots by lineage. Rather than look for the differences between us let's look at what makes all of us Scoucers totally different from the mancs!
Well it's quite easy to take the piss out of a team that bottled an 8 point lead and a club with a mountain of debt that couldn't 'get away' a floatation in either Singapore or the US. Wake up and smell the coffee the glory times have passed and you haven't woken up to the fact yet.
Its also easy to take the piss out of ''Quck fix Fergie'' who paid £24 million for an injury prone rapist. Maybe it was to keep Jonny ''I didn't touch her'' Evans company.
Sorry to disappoint but I was actually born in Southampton , lived here fir years though , love it here , married a Scouse lady etc etc . I certainly do not want to argue whether a Scouser is a Scouser or a Brit or Irish but what riled me was the blatant disregard for other Irish people , it's far too simplistic to say all Scousers are Irish , sorry will stop now .
Bottled eight points you say? Well, at least we didn't do it in three games... And remind me how we couldn't "get away" a floatation in the US, whatever that means? Coulda sworn we floated last month
No, not all scousers have irish lineage. As I've pointed out, the Chinese have the longest established non-European community in Liverpool (and Manchester too, I think) and I think most of us know at least one Chinese Scouser, and over the last 30/40 years you can add west indian, Asian and African. The point I tried to make two pages back is that the ethnic and social mix (and even the accent) of Machester and Liverpool seemed indistingusihable(?) to an old Kiwi girlfriend - which is ironic as she went three shades of puce when people mistook her for an Aussie. Sheesh, it wasn't supposed to provoke a debate on hoe DIFFERENT Scousers are...
Take a closer look. There's 3 merchant banks with an awful lot of paper that they can't make a profit on bearing your holding company's name. How long before they start 'bundling' and discounting?
