Not just the memo BUT the rules!!!!
My post for goodness sake is straight from the IRB rule book via their press conference on Sunday.
Some on here obviously can't read or choose to disagree with the facts.

In closing some might to note he has been given 3 weeks when the guidelines indicate 6 minimum due to:

Sorry to dispel your conspiracy theory, but youâll be disappointed to learn that Craig Joubert will refereeing the World Cup final. To state that âWe also know that Rolland desperately wants the finalâ is rather immature as I canât name ANY professional referee that wouldnât want to officiate at the very highest level.
Come off it, pal. Rolland's hand went up faster than an eager schoolboy. If he hadn't been so desperate to appease, he might have just given himself a little time to think logically, and possibly consult, before making such a World Cup changing decision.
By the way, I've never had a "conspiracy theory", as you put it. If you care to READ the OP, you will see that I asked the question, why were the IRB stupid enough to lay themselves open to any hint of bias, by appointing Rolland to officiate that game, when he is half French, himself?
If the IRB say it should be a red card then they should be constant with their decisions, there have been other incidents like this in the world cup non of which have led to a red card. The one in the Fiji game was even worse. If the refs had regularly been giving reds for spear tackles then there wouldn't have been the same reaction

Yeah, you've got a point. I probably should have phrased it better. It wasn't just the decision itself I thought was totally wrong, it was the unseemly haste with which it was made that led me say what I did at the time.

Yes Alain Rolland(the ref) didn't help at all and despite putting us at a dis-advantage for over 60 minutes,He wasn't the one who missed 3 penalties and a conversion,He wasn't the one who made Mike Philips touch down in the corner when he could of got a lot closer to the posts( maybe if Mike hadn't been pointing to the ground and mocking the french player he would of).
As proud and Gutted as i am the harsh reality is Wales got beat by France and South Africa and in both games it was Welsh mistakes that cost us.
In the 2005 and 2008 grand slam we hardly missed a kick, if this had been replicated in the world cup then we would be World Cup Finalist with or without Sam Warburton.

Fair play to you as I now understand what you meant.IMO the two things I hate about Union are:
1) The out of touch fools at the IRB
2) The ability of ALL referees to differ in their application (or as the IRB call it, interpretations"!) thus resulting in bewildering decisions.
I personally know one ex-international referee who gave the game away due to what he called the inconsistency of the review process they undergo after each series/tournament.
It would seem therefore that if the referees canât agree between themselves what chance have they on the pitch!

Consistency is what's needed, but doesn't seem to be happening. I guess it's all down to interpretation. I just think Rolland didn't give himself any time to evaluate, and make a rational decision. Had he consulted, and then still come to the same decision, I would still think he was wrong - but, at least I would respect the way he handled the situation.
The IRB haven't got a patch on the RFU when it comes to indecision, and general buffoonery. I despair for the future of the game in England with this bunch of politically motivated clowns in charge.

The only one I can think of, but the player holds him all the way and drives him down with intent (funnily enough getting a 3 week ban also).... no prizes for guessing who the ref is???
