Nothing wrong with a bit of praise though. What do most Newcastle fans think of Kenny? I know he didn't do well for you, but surely you would be positive towards a former servant?

Most of them loathe him because he wasn't Keegan.

Neutral feelings towards Dalglish to be honest. Bit of a disappointment but I have no reason to hate him as such, just in the same way that I don't have any reasons to like him a lot.

Did find him telling Wenger to **** off quite amusing though.

Yeah there is that! lol.

I too like the fact he told Wenger to go do one. Boy did it need saying!

Loathe's a strong word, just think he had a tough act to follow, same as Souness following Sir Bobby, could never take to him. Plus when you get rid of Les Ferdinand and David Ginola then bring in Andreas Andersson etc. can't really praise the job he did here.

Don't mind Wenger to be honest, I just found the whole thing funny. Probably the only audible thing I've ever heard him say.

Don't see how there could be an argument about who's the bigger club between Liverpool and us, Liverpool are bigger in pretty much every respect.

Carroll will definitely score. I'm ready for it. It will be interesting to see whether he celebrates it or not, normally I'd say he wouldn't but the stick he's going to be getting off our fans may change his mind...

Really? That's sad really.

Had this discussion a while ago with your lads on here and a few good points were raised that softened my opinion towards the guy's time at Newcastle but I still consider him to be overrated as a manager despite his successes. I stick by my belief that the Liverpool team of the 80s was so ridiculously good that a moderately trained gorilla could have led them to the title and that Blackburn's PL success was vastly due to the Premier League's top goal scorer being in arguably the form of his career at the time.
This is quite a head-on train collision of a topic though, you guys will undoubtedly worship him for good reason; he has personality and strong ties to great times with your club. If we'd won anything with Keegan I don't doubt that we'd all be united in denying any claims that he doesnt deserve all the praise he gets.

To be fair they are valid points!

This is just it, he is quite good sometimes - just the rants, uuugh the rants <laugh>

Agree HMT.

I'd like to add as well, that one of the strongest arguments for a clubs size (can't believe I'm doing this debate AGAIN) is the stadium and the depth of truly passionate supporters. This is one area where both our clubs can truly relate IMO and the main reason why I harbour nothing against LFC, as stated previously.

I'm going to the game on Friday, not been to Anfield for a few years now and I'm really looking forward to it, I'd be more than happy with a draw.
Skysports are advertising this game as a "Classic", not sure what they are expecting, I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

It's got a history of great games to be fair.

Yes it has, you're right.
To be fair I'm expecting it to be an exciting game, I just hope I don't have a long miserable journey home.
I've got work on Saturday, no doubt Ill be in a heap, who cares though. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Apart from stadium attendances.

I agree with you that Liverpool are simply the bigger club, but attendance is one factor where we win.

What about average attendance in % ?

EDIT: Found it

http://itv.stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/attend.html

Liverpool - Average Attendance - 44911 - Capacity - 45362 - Percentage - 99.0%

Newcastle - Average Attendance - 48484 - Capacity - 52387 - Percentage - 92.5%

What about it?

You have an average attendance of 44911, whilst we have an average attendance of 48484, with neither side filling their stadium up completely.

One of us could have a stadium with a 100,000 capacity, but it still doesn't change that Newcastle, on average, gets more fans through the gates than Liverpool does.
