We’ll be nowhere the play offs this season which I’m completely okay with as we’re undergoing a big rebuild. I just hope Acun gives Walter the time.
If results are like this in Hull forums, imagine how others will rate us. Damn.I've not done stats for ions....But I guess the distribution will be somewhere in this ballpark...give or take....
1-2 = 0% chance
3-6 = 5% "
7-10 = 18% "
11-14= 32% "
15-18= 24% "
19-21= 16% "
22-24 = 5% "
Only 5% chance of relegation.......tbh thats not a bad return...of course its based on nothing but a guessestimate. If results are like this in Hull forums, imagine how others will rate us. Damn.
To be honest, a club finished 7th earlier season should not even discuss relegation. At least there shouldn't be any fans imagining that.Only 5% chance of relegation.......tbh thats not a bad return...of course its based on nothing but a guessestimate.
Especially considering the state of play at the minute… Burnley have just been decimated, Luton look crap, Blunts look decent but have dropped a few already. It's been on my mind this weekend that there's a big question around our expectations now. The talk has always been about playoffs and promotion but it seems most fans now don't expect any of that and Baz on the 1904 club is saying that we're nowhere near that, which is possibly right.
But I wonder if we really are on board with that lower expectation? Personally I'll be a bit gutted to see us not competing in the promotion picture, even though I don't disagree with the people saying that we're not in a great position for it. We talk a lot about entertainment and I suspect many people would say they'd take a mid-table finish or maybe even worse if it's entertaining. But then I'm not sure what that really looks like. Objectively, finishing mid-table means having more defeats and less wins than last season. I struggle to imagine how that won't be even more frustrating than last season was. Do many teams repeatedly win big one week and lose big the next, is that realistic? Even if it is, are we that sort of side? Currently we look more like having the same sort of limitations we've had for a few years now; low goalscoring and low chance creation, which means tight games which we might nick at times and have nicked from us at other times. If that's the case again, but the results overall are worse, then it could become a very frustrating season.
Last thing I want to do is pile on Acun, who has brought so much hope to City fans after the Allam years, but I did say last season that we should have targeted this season. His big spend in January was ridiculous, when even if we had made the top six, we only had a 1 in 4 chance to get promoted. Particularly when it impacted so badly on this and the next two seasons spending and decimated the squad for this season.Especially considering the state of play at the minute… Burnley have just been decimated, Luton look crap, Blunts look decent but have dropped a few already.
Leeds and Sunderland the stand outs but I expect Sunderland to fall away due to depth.
All to play for
It's not the same club that finished 7th though. A new manager claiming to be playing a different style, a plethora of important first teamers gone and a big influx of unproven/unknown replacements. We might as well have just entered the division for all the comparisons with last season are relevant. To be honest, a club finished 7th earlier season should not even discuss relegation. That's not my problem, it is the problem of leadership. They took a decision, if their decision takes team behind, they should burden the consequences too. As a fan, it is my right to demand progress, if they fail, I will just stall my support until they are gone or change things. It's not the same club that finished 7th though.
