This was a very enjoyable evening with who can genuinely be called a legend. A shame only around 40 people attended, there should have been a lot more.
To bullet point.
*Curbs said he does punditry work for channels abroad, thus explaining him not being able to do every Charlton game.
*His time out of the game taking West Ham to court became a problem, managers get forgotten.
*He was offered a job a LONG way from home, my guess is Middlesbrough. He turned it down as he had three meetings with a club nearer home, but was not offered the job.
*Pre mobile days, he knew where Di Canio lived, free transfers addresses were listed, he turned up one day but Di Canio was not in, Curbs left his number on a bit of paper in his post box!!!!!
*Judas was given 4x his Charlton salary when moving to Chelsea. We were offered 6mill, but got 12mill plus Carlton Nogoal on loan.
*I asked the great man on his biggest achievement, he said promoting us the next season after relegation in '99.
