£3,000,000 would be cheap if we were to go up. HR hasn't changed, what you see is what you get and we knew that from the start. I blame Fernandes, bullshit merchant with a proven record in F1 where incidentally he threatens to pull the plug at the end of the season if there are no results after years of under financing.
When he achieves what that moron Flabio did get back to me. Where's Bhattia? Where are the Mittals? They know bad news are are staying well clear.
For the life of me I cannot understand why people here lap up TF's bullshit, TF has admitted his business plan is based on that of Michael O'Leary, that should be a warning to anyone.
There's nothing wrong with our squad and HR and his team have a proven record. Beard? Where the **** is he and what the **** has he done for us?
Outstanding. So there's nothing wrong with Redknapp (who chose his coaching team, including WALLY DOWNES) or the squad - chosen by Redknapp over 3 transfer windows, obviously within some rules set by the club owners (including Mittal).
But a series of dire performances, actually stretching back to Redknapp's appointment and before, are according to you, Fernandes' and Beard's fault. I'll give you they haven't chipped in with many goals between them, but to blame the team's performances on them is just your long held prejudice against them. I'm pretty prejudiced against Redknapp, and sadly he is backing up my bias on a daily basis, but I don't blame him for some of the stupid contracts players were offered.
Overall TF has given this club a direction and concrete and exciting plans for the future. The failure has been on the pitch, and he can be blamed for trusting 'football people' on this - Warnock and his panic buys with bribery contracts started the rot, though he is probably least culpable, his problem was lack of talent to manage at the top level (Oslo, I know you'll come back on this but when he was sacked we were sinking like a stone, and had put in a disastrous performance against MK Dons and the dressing room had turned against him. Ask Barton). Hughes did actually keep us up and recruited players (again on stupid contracts) that I at least was genuinely excited about, but left us with a bizarre squad which he could not manage. Redknapp was given his Christmas wishes - Samba and Remy (who he had failed to recruit for Spurs) were personally delivered by TF, plus Townsend and Jenas. About this time last year the team started to give up. Then he gets to build a short term squad, plus a couple of proper signings in Philips and Austin, to get us promoted. That can be the only expectation we have for this approach, because this squad won't exist come the end of June, consolidation/regrouping would have been done a very different way. And Redknapp must have put his hand on his heart and said 'I can do this, with these players'. And he may have added,
sotto voce 'but it won't be pretty'.
I didn't want Redknapp, because of previously held prejudice against him, but I could understand the appointment, likewise with Hughes. Those calling for better 'football advice' to TF are basically saying 'don't trust your manager'. I don't think TF does trust Redknapp any more and who can blame him. He must be as fed up with this as we are.
Still 45 points to play for, and the best paid management team and players in this division have to deliver them.
