Notwithstanding I’m still fuming over the defensive substitutions at Bristol I totally agree replacing Riza for replacement sake is not the way forward so until and unless the consultants they’ve employed complete their research nothing is going to happen. My agitation is that this is taking too long but I suppose it’s better to be thorough than rush it.
There's absolutely no argument that the substitutions cost us two points. In some ways it's made the decision of whether or not to keep Riza a bit easier. If it transpires that he hasn't learnt, then he has to go.
Another day, another name dropped into the hat. Claude Makelele? Nope I don’t think so but hey it keeps us amused while our inept board dilly dally.
The Frenchman, 51, is now available after leaving his post as manager of Greek side Asteras Tripolis after just three weeks in charge. He told LondonWorld: "They promised me full control of the team. It was my decision who played or didn’t play. Transfers were not my responsibility. "If you want to sack me because the results are not good, that’s fine. This is football. But I don’t want people telling me who should or shouldn’t play." He'll get on well with Tan.
Who? No thanks. 18 managerial posts and only 49. Doesn't hang around, does he? Next names from Glen, Clingo, Masky, William, Sparkey?
Tony Mowbray now moved up to favourite................. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/cardiff/next-permanent-manager
I’d have no complaints if Mowbray was appointed but just for this season. He appears to be the sort of no nonsense bloke who’s experienced and can engage with Tan like Warnock did. If appointed then at the end of the season and if we’re still in the championship as you suggest him going upstairs and overseeing a dynamic and younger managerial talent.
Given many of our internationals didn't travel (and an administrative error meant Ruben wasn't with the 21s) we should have largely a clean bill of health with plenty of time spent on the training paddock. No idea what has gone on regarding a manager, but in the short term, we just need points on the board. I wonder if Belamy's start has given Tan food for thought regarding the type of manager he should be looking for.
Listening to Dave Edwards on co comms last night comparing Bellamy’s approach to what he learnt from Kompany, which followed what Kompany learnt from Guardiola makes me wonder whether we missed out on last summer. However wake up Nin and smell the coffee: City haven’t got Nico Williams, Harry Wilson and David Brookes
The longer it takes to appoint a new manager the more likely it is that Riza will get the job (unless Masky's silence is hiding the appointment we all dread). We have 2 home games in the next week. Not enough time for a new man to come in and impose his style, particularly for Plymouth on Saturday. Should Riza get us 2 wins and we start to climb the league he will have made a good case with 3 wins, a draw where we should have won and 1 defeat. I'm not confident we will have made the right choice but he has got us playing better football. Also VT has a habit of giving temp managers a full contract if they do a good job as temp. As usual we are in the dark and it really pees me off when the Jacks get loads of WoL coverage and we get very little.
My post 11.45am. Glen's post 13.16pm. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar His boss must have told him to get an article out there. Obviously following us.
This is mental and he’s supposed to be involved in finding out new manager https://x.com/NathCcfc/status/1846529740313702460
Absolute madness. What was that song by the Move? "I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain". Or the other 60's classic by Scott McKenzie. "If you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear some flowers in your hair" Or in this case Cardiff City. Ken must have been on Aber's happy smokes.
