I’m comfortable with seeing how Riza gets on in the 3 games until the break but fear what could happen if he gets a few decent results - we’ll be in a Mark Hudson conundrum - either keep him as caretaker or give him the job. We know how well the latter went<doh>

Hi all from a JB.

Before Luke Williams was appointed for us I had a bet on Brian Barry-Murphy.

At 14/1 I've had a dabble on him for you lot.

Thoughts?

Sends out all the wrong signals even though we know it’s probably spot on. When oh when will Tan wake up smell the coffee and seek outside help from people who know a thing about football management and not leave it to those two again :emoticon-0181-fubar

Thanks for posting TigerJools. Always good to get some insight.

A related question. Do you have footballing experience on your board or does it come down to the owner and businessmen?
We really lack any footballing nous on our board so lurch from one direction to the next, one crisis to the next.

Our owner, Ajun Ilicali (the Turkish Simon Cowell now but used to be a football journalist) was like a kid in a sweet shop when be bought City and basically tried to buy any player, Turkish or otherwise, that used to play in the Turkish league. His first love is Fenerbache and he is now part owner of them. Apparently that is one of the reasons he took his eye off the ball during the recent close season and transfer window. We thought he might be selling us but he has since said he still loves us and his boys so he's staying put. Trying to reign him in is his Vice President and Director of Football, Tan Kesler, who was a football agent. Apart from him the other directors remain a mystery. Oh - and we've swapped our chief scout with Stokes so I'm not sure how that will pan out! We really need a home win on Saturday (although 'typical City' will probably give you the points) so I'd like to wish you luck from Sunday onwards
!

Thanks for that.

At least you have a DoF. It's more than we have.

Interesting transfer strategy.

There's a manager on the market who played for, and coached, Fenerbache.
We've just sacked him.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Schumacher and Alexandersson now 9/4 joint favourites......................

We definitely need someone with experience in this league.
With better infrastructure at the top table it would be less of an issue, but a newbie to the league without direction, guidance and support would be asking for more problems.

It'll be interesting to see how things shape up under Riza. His interview suggests he will take a more front footed approach than Bullet. Indeed, reading between the lines, he was advocating it from when he first joined, but Bullet kept the handbrake on.
His first team selection will give us a few clues. I'm not expecting him to rip it all up, but I'm hoping for a couple of telling changes.
