Fergie left the squad in just perfect shape didn't he? A midfield with ONE player actually good enough to play for Manchester United. A disgruntled centre forward who wanted to leave.
It wasn't just broke mate, it was ****ed.
And Moyes's reward having been given the most difficult pair of shoes to fill in the history on football management?
One player. One!
Those wonderful American parasites who are ****ing up a great football club and the nodding lap dog named Woodward provided their new manager with ONE new player.

I agree gonz, while its nice to take the piss out of the mancs for a change there were lads like Ruff there before SAF and the glory years and had patience, but the many plastics and prawn sarnie munchers that have latched on to his team will now demand a new manager at Utd and they are whats wrong with modern day footie.
Real 5 points behind second place after 7 games in a 2 team league? it is possable we could be 3 points behind second place after 7 games in a league where 6 or 7 teams are expected to compete.
It's going to be a long season for them (I hope) with not much reward (again) but sticking by your club and manager is something that the majority of them will do.
I think we need to give Moyes time, not jump on his back.
He is replacing the best manager english football had for 26 years, a manager who has been at united for 26 years, rebuilding teams so many times, he was MR Man Utd for 26 years. Did all you think Moyes would come in and automatically be really good? of course he would struggle for few games at the start, he needs time too, to get used to everything even the pressure, replacing Sir Alex is the toughest job. Even the players themselves, apart from Fellaini, all the other players, nearly all of the players is and was fergie's players for many years, they've been playing in Fergie's methods and ways for many years, even the players would need to start getting used to different methods. Moyes must be his own way, he won't be trying to copy the methods Sir Alex done because everyone has their own ideas.
Man Utd are at the moment in a rebuilding process, remember in 2003 to 2006 when Arsenal won the league and then Chelsea won the league twice in a row, we had Sir Alex back then and we couldn't win the league for 3 years because Sir Alex was rebuilding the team. It would take time but we need to give Moyes time. Plus still got a veyr long way to go, so we need to wait and get behidn the manager. I'm sure good things will happen, just need to be patient.
Think about it, Moyes was Sir Alex's choice, if we all are thinking whether Moyes is the right man and stuff, wouldn't Sir Alex of thought all that when he decided to pick Moyes for Man Utd? we all trusted in SAF's decisions before and so we should now.
Get behind the team, remember what SAF said, our job is to get behind our new manager, some of his last words as Man Utd manager.

Right - I have no stats to hand, Cos i can't be bothered. But.
How has Fergie averaged over the years in the following fixtures:
Liverpool (A)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (H)
Newly Promoted (H)
Strong Mid Table team (A)
Bottom third team (H)
The differences are:
usually those fixtures dont all come in the first 6 games of the season.
Fergie was a one in a million manager.
Labelling Moyes the Burger Van guy is totally unfair. Everton are a big, big club. Not in the same league as Man Utd, granted, but a big club none the less.
To repeat - the squad of players currently at Man Utd - they are Fergie's players. They were all (Fellaini aside) brought to Old Trafford totally in awe of Fergie. They have all grown up with Fergie being the manager at Old Trafford and they were all probably gutted that he left last year. To suggest that that wouldnt have a massive effect on the squad when the going got tough this year, irrespective of who the manager was, is totally ignorant of the reality of professional football. The fact that the going got tough this early was fairly inevitable given the opening fixtures.
If Man Utd finish outside the top 4 at the end of the season, Moyes will have some questions to answer. Until May, its just a small part of a 38 game season. Fergie had some horrendous runs of form over his time, but he was always, correctly, judged on a season's work at the end of the season.
moyes will never get that patience in todays world, like alex got for 6/7 years!

This is just typical of the knee jerk reaction from plastics. United are notorious for having a bad start to the season, and this one has so far been unacceptable.

Changeovers will always cause problems, and whilst we certainly made a complete cock up of summer signings, be patient. Arsenal and Spurs might be top at the moment, but Chelski and Citeh have hardly started off at a gallop, so maybe its time for Moyes to kick them into shape. Calling for his resignation is absurd, so let him get on with it.

Perhaps Moyes is Fergie's annointed one, but I do think this has bred a ceertain element of the 'emperors new clothes' syndrome within certain groups of fans who feel the rest of us are not permitted to voice valid concerns, simply because Fergie chose the man. I don't believe that is right. I have been a United supporter since the mid 60's, so I've experienced all of the ups and downs that being a supporter can bring, so this isn't a 'plastic' viewpoint but a genuine concern for the long term health of the club.
The arrival of Moyes has a completely different feel to previous managerial changes. I don't know what it is, are the team being over-trained for this point in the season? are the team selections wrong, particularly in defence ?
The big problem is that the coaching staff that Moyes brought in have no comparisons to guide them in terms of player fitness and performance, all of that information walked out the door when Moyes cleared out all of the coaching staff, particularly Rene. Now, while Fergie might have thought Moyes the right man for the job, I seriously wonder if he thought he would be, but only if he used the existing coaching staff to support and guide him.
Getting rid of them all is where I think Moyes has undermined himself. The team have yet to develop respect for the manager and the credibility of the Everton coaching staff and their methods has not been established.

Now we have seen rotation for2 games and the other players feature more. Fine. He is still finding out who his players are, what form they are in and how best to line them up. The team can hardly be described as well drilled yet. Understandable.
Some of our players have made awful mistakes and been poor with passing and possession. You can't blame Moyes for that. You need to give him time to find out what works, make changes and take us forward. He said on bbc sport, that top European Teams like Bayern or Barca have at least 5-6 world class players and we do not have that at United and I agree. Give him time and patience to learn who makes the grade and make changes.

I do agree that he was a little hasty to replace the senior coaching staff. I read that he had an impressive set-up at Everton but even so, why dispense so soon with that much experience.
Sure, he can phase his guys in gradually, but I guess the 'just rip the plaster off' approach is simply spelling out his indications from the start.
