So I should have made one up?

I think being hit by a stranger on a train is an uncommon occurrence, or does it happen to you every day?
I didn't say make one up, or is being "hit" by a pair of gloves the most interesting thing that has ever happened to you?

It's supermarkets that remind me how much I loathe the general public.
I know it's an oldie but women still acting surprised at the checkout that they have to pay really ****ing annoys me.

Hoking about their handbags for 5 minutes for their purse

Ah the service itself is brilliant Ciaran - it's just the people you have to share it with <laugh>
I was getting a train to London Bridge and got talking to this guy on his way to the Rugger and he recommended getting off there and walking down the south bank through the markets etc and it was a great walk. Never had a problem with people on the transport. You hear horror stories about how rude the people are and that but I found it the opposite.

Maybe I've just been lucky.

I took my headphones off and threw the gloves at him, and uttered words to the effect "what are you playing at ya ****ing clown, those are not my ****ing gloves". He responded warily (and somewhat stupidly) "I didn't want to wake you up", I retorted "then why are you throwing ****ing gloves at me you ****ing idiot". He had no response and went to another seat, fortunately for him as I did consider lamping him right on the jaw.

What actually happened:

A man who racially abused a family of four on a train is being hunted by police.

The incident happened between Dundee and Arbroath just after 6pm on Saturday.

The man, thought to be in his late 50s, shouted racially offensive comments at a 29-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife.

The couple were travelling with their two daughters, aged 11 and six months.

The man is about 5ft 5in in height and was wearing a brown jacket.

Is that what you got from "snooze", "kinda half awake" and "vaguely aware of someone sitting down next to me" ? Does it sound as if I was in a deep sleep, stupid features?

Yes.

1. You'd have noticed some **** sitting next to you otherwise if you were sleeping lightly.
2. You're old and old people fall asleep all the time.
3. 'Kinda half awake' implies you're groggy after sleeping

The poor **** you insulted/hit/whatever probably thought you were trying to save the seat next to you, because you're a selfish trainseat-hogging ****, and threw what he thought were your ****ty gloves at you.

I'd have done the same thing <ok>

And If I was sleeping "Deeply" I would not have felt (or known) the gloves had hit me would I? <doh>

No go away and pester someone who cares what you think, it will be a very small group.
