I've got a mate lives in Perth and he says it's rife with meth users, so maybe go there if you fancy a bit of meth.

Tees, life is about taking chances mate.

Stand still for 30 seconds, clear your head and take the yes or no that follows.

There's nowt more carnal than instinct.

    Which firm Tees? Inpex, Woodside?

I am with BP in Baku atm and would love the chance to go back to Oz. Prior to lips tarting a life in oil I worked in the gold mines of WA. Found the whole WA lifestyle brilliant, great for kids as well.

Whatever you choose there'll be positives and negatives, but make a choice and stick by it.

    Best of luck!

Tees 25 years ago i was a high flyer and had the opportunity to move abroad with my job. Had just split from the missus and it wud have meant leaving my twin girls who were 5 years old. Chose not to go and decided i would only chase promotions that didnt involve moving. Although sometimes i wonder how far i could have gone and how much i may have earned the rewards of being around and seeing my girls grow up far outweighed any financial rewards

What are you doing right now? would it be possible to go for this new offer, suck it and see, then make the call?

I've worked overseas for the past 20 odd years mate, but i've been fortunate enough to be able to do a month on and a month off so got the best of both worlds really, but, it can be hard. I've missed **** loads of Christmas's, Birthdays, even deaths of loved ones and it's ****ing hard at times mate, it really is. But, i've had a great life because of what i do, money is good so have been able to a lot of things that i wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. Plus, i've seen more of my family than i would if i'd stayed in there UK, sounds a bit Irish like but it's true. My last job in UK i was doing severn 15 hour shifts a week and the kids were in bed by the time i got home.

I don't know the terms of your offer but guessing cos it's Perth, it won't be rotational? i'm with Dog on this one and would find it hard to say no if i'm honest.

Personally I couldn't think of a worse place to move to, they have snakes, that kill you, spiders, that kill you, sharks, that kill you and crocodiles, that kill you.

Imagine going for a pint and spending your last $20 on a round of beers then having to walk home and you bump into a pack of alligators on your way back, thoughts of good old Middlesbrough will be all you can think of as you are being eaten alive.

On a serious note mate, you could ask your Mrs if she's open to a compromise for the sake of a better (albeit shark infested) future for your kids, if she says no, then as disappointing as it may be, your decision has been made for you.

Exactly mate. Watching your kids grow and spending as much time with them throughout childhood is priceless.
