I hate to labour the point, but have you read that recipe... Method Heat the oil in a wok. Add the onions and spices and fry for 3-5 minutes until the onions are transparent. Tip in the tomatoes and cook for a minute or two. Throw in the okra and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until the okra is cooked through. Season well and serve. How the heck is that a bhaji? Sounds like okra in some sort of curry sauce
Have a look on the menu the next time you go for an Indian meal. The dish is a bhaji, as is the aubergine one which also isn't a fritter.
I'm surprised it's considered weird, I always have it as a side. I love okra, there's a part of me that comes from okra territory where it's used in a traditional stew.
Wouldn't say it's weird.. Not many curry houses have it.. I'd never heard of it til my mate ordered it. Tasted like green beans in curry really. Would have it again mind.
Every curry house has it! At least every traditional curry house I've ever known! Okra is much tastier than green beans. As a bit of a foodie I'd recommend you sticking them in a beef stew.
Had all the family around over the weekend, they expected me to knock up some nice food. I considered the fact that there were 7 adults and 4 kids and poured a couple of jars of curry sauce over chicken.
Think I'll treat myself to a Pizza Express takeaway tonight. For £12.95 you get a classic pizza side salad (or dessert) and a side of garlic bread. Pisses majestically all over Dominoes in both quality and cost. How the **** was I ever conned into eating such dog **** stodge? Be rude not to wash this down with a couple of very cold Peroni's.
