    Who’s Phil Baker?

    Do you mean Phil Bater?

Recall the likes of Terry Boyle, Gary Bennett, Darren Purse, Jason Perry, Jeff Ekhardt, Phil Dwyer, Don Murray, John Buchanan, Paul Ramsey, Phil Stant - none of those took prisoners :emoticon-0146-punch

Doh, bloody autocorrect, yep, Phil Bater is who I meant !
Didn’t think about Ekhardt.... Ramsey too... Tough as old boots your entire list mate.. deffo typical Cardiff players!

In saying that, we've always quite liked our tricky wingers and we've had a few strikers that have been idolised, but in the main issue reckon blood, guts and thunder type players are usually held in higher esteem by our fans.

I read an article on Robin Friday this morning and got to thinking.
Since his day, football has changed beyond all recognition, well not quite. However, would a player with his reputation be welcomed by the Bluebirds faithful, given the skills he possessed?

I’d snap him up myself......my worries about football these days are they seemed highly trained but lacking a footballers brain.....I much prefer the natural talent over any well drilled factory produce........I have a personal reason for my take I was better than most of the Cardiff youth team I played in but didn’t follow instructions very well.....some of the lacking in quality players got further than myself.....maybe they realised I couldn’t get fiddled with without whistleblowing the twats away.

The man don’t give a fcuk said the super furry bluebirds....and they were spot on

Hi supcon - nice to hear from you again.

Perhaps you post over here when we win one (if we ever will <laugh>) instead of having a crack when we've just lost (again).

BTW, how's the Championship going? Are you going to blow a decent start again?

If you ever win I’ll be back. Even chance we will blow it again, the Chamoionship is tough, as you’ll see next year.

We know how tough the Championship is pal - we were in it a lot longer than you whilst you were in League One.

If we do face it again next season, we'll be all the better for being up here right now - about £150M better with the £50M first year parachute payment.

It's a dangerous gamble banking on being better next year. Form and confidence play such a big part in football. Going up with the intention to take the money and come straight back down, it changes the mentality of the players. Rather than going out believing they will win every game (championship), the initial thought will be to go out and not lose (premiership). We are at that stage now which is shown by our lack of goals, and that's not what gets you promoted. Look at Sunderland and to a lesser extent, Burton.

The vast majority across here are not banking on being better off next year as a side - I meant we would be better off financially to the tune of around £150M.

Going back down is a poor substitute for staying up. The notion that we would be better off and primed to come back up is flawed.

If money was the only consideration then getting here and failing was a better option that not getting here at all, but that's not where most of us are coming from. <ok>

Swansea have a minor outside chance of play offs.

City have a minor outside chance of survival.

Ergo the South Wales derby will be back on the fixture list next campaign.

I’m looking forward to that as much as SWP.

Fair assessment there, lets hope both teams top the Championship next season, cannot see you boys staying up to be honest, you do not have any threat upfront.............<ok>
