Would be nice to see Piotr Parzyszek to stay at the club. Powell and Riga has always stated that "he's one for the future! (i.e. next season)." At 20 and scoring 29 goals in 52 appearances is not bad (1.7 goals per game). Albeit it was in the Eerste Divisie, but West Ham too were interested in purchasing him for the future too. I thought too that Dorian Dervite already resigned? Riga and Poyet is a must too, in staying at the club. As long as we don't have Yohann Thuram-Ulien, I'm pretty sure we can attract a decent keeper, or have one already in Pope.
At the time we were struggling for goals, and everyone was suggesting PP be given a try. I took those comments by CP and JR to be a polite way of saying "he would be useless in the first team now" rather than any considered evaluation of his future. I bet for every youngster we have ever released, someone has said somewhere along the line "he's one for the future". It's just one of those totally meaningless cliches people trot out like "attack is the best method of defence", "never change a winning team', or Chris Powell's favourite "we move on". "i.e. next season" is your interpretation of what they said. They might have really meant "sometime never". Of course, we have him signed up, so we might as well see what he can do after a full pre-season and a chance to brush up his English and settle in. He may surprise us. Lord knows, he is just the type of player we do need. I am just not too hopeful personally. If a player has a chance to go to Benfica (allegedly) and chooses Charlton, I smell a rat.
Cawley said that if we stayed in the Championship, RD might well go for it. I will believe it when I see it.
yep, based on evidence so far, we wont be going for it. hamer, morro, dervitte and poyet all out of contract. there's no way he'd buy 11 players to start.
I think a side containing Solly Wilson Jackson Harriott Cousins wiggins is a good place to start I'd be happy for Dervitte and Morrison to stay obviously Poyet would be the iceing on the cake but can't see him staying 5 decent signings mixed with the youngsters coming through we could be half decent next season
He goes with thanks, but was never good enough for us from the start IMO. Had days where he did a job, but League Two is his level.
No we can't. We're not renewing the tea ladies. There's this guy in Alcorcon with a coffee machine and a trolley.
Yep, I can't argue with you there, Mike. He's a lovely guy off the pitch, too, and always has plenty of time for the kids. Master PEA and Princess PEA had a photo taken with him and they were well chuffed. Both Green and Pritch will do well with three seasons at Charlton on their CVs.
Just basing it on what I saw. Was never convinced by him in league one, though he did have the odd good game.
