The story goes, God was going to have man carry his balls in his hand, hence why us blokes are constantly grabbing them, then he discovered he had an excess of elbow skin and as a result made a wee bag to carry mans balls in.

Mehta annoys me in general is that race and colour are labels attached to things at times and that in itself can be a bit racist.

An example…

Media- A black man was arrested today on suspicion of the stabbing of xxxx.

Reality- A man was arrested today on suspicion of the stabbing of xxxx.

its like when police forces openly say they don’t haven enough black officers like there’s some kind of quota.

A police officer should be employed on his or her ability not his/her/they/it’s skin colour.

As I understand it (we are in a similar position) the police would not have a quota they need to meet of black people, gays, women or whatever.
When they question whether they have "enough" of those types it's because if you took a random sample of 100 people then x amount should be male, x female, x gay etc etc. Not because of a quota but because it's just a cross section of society. If at the point your work force doesn't reflect that then perhaps it's fair to look into why. You can't make artificial quotas and I'm assured that isn't happening in my service but if, for example (can't be bothered to search the actual figures), 20% of society is black, 50% are woman, 10% are gay then if you were to recruit 100 people you could reasonably expect 50 women, 20 black people and 10 gay people in your final pool because there is no reason a black person or gay person shouldn't be as capable as a straight white person.

When they are concerned about their "quota" they won't artificially increase them, they will take the best people but it's worth looking at to see what the barriers might be.
Also there's the knock on affect, the young black gay woman might not apply for a job that she is completely capable of doing because she doesn't feel like there is anybody else like her in the industry. It never once occured to me whether my job is the right fit for a white, straight male.... Were pretty well represented in the service.

It amuses me that a company that bangs on about the lack of diversity in womens football (and about diversity issues everywhere else they can) has a dozen top earners that are all white honkies.
F*ckin' hypocrites....

Ah so the old -

Inequality of outcome is proof of inequality of opportunity argument.

Well if there's some evidence of discrimination stopping non-white people getting in the squad, then fine, but an inequal outcome proves nothing.
