Sunderland
Sunderland's chances of hanging on to Gus Poyet have increased, with the news that West Ham are set to keep faith with boss Sam Allardyce.

Over the last week, there had been speculation that the Hammers were ready to part company with Allardyce with Black Cats head coach Poyet the favourite to replace him.

Allardyce came under fire from West Ham fans last season, despite leading the club to a comfortable lower midtable finish.

But the Hammers board have decided to stick with the ex-Newcastle and Bolton manager, and are reportedly preparing to release a statement giving Allardyce their public backing.

And that will at least stop the rumours surrounding Poyet and a switch to Upton Park.

Poyet’s future at Sunderland is not yet 100% assured, however.

He is due to meet owner Ellis Short this week for talks over the club’s transfer budget, and is also keen to make changes behind the scenes on Wearside.

What a load of **** <doh> Poyet's future has not and has never hinged on West Ham.

They can`t resist can they?
Always got to have that little dig.

Amazing how the press are privvy to the in's and out's and everyday workings at the club.

i dont think there was ever any chance of poyet leaving us for west ham, i mean what would be the point if anything we have better prospects. poyet has the potential to be our best manager of recent history and i cant belive short will let him go easy. were all going to be counting down the days untill this clause expires in his contract at the end of the month or the club make a statement. i think he will stay and carry on the project he has started and continue to evolve us into a better club

in your opinion of course bri

Fixed <ok>

It was opinion, now fact.

My opinon was based on West Ham still having a Manager(which they did, do and will not be changing in the immediate future) and Gus yet to complete talks with Ellis as he's currently on Holiday. It's bull **** fella, they're just filling pre world cup pages. Don't be naive by believing everything you read, sometimes applying logic and a bit of common sense instead will uncover the truth.
