Nice my parents had a Villa there 73-85
San Clemente near Cales Coves
Never been back
What’s it like today ?
Cala n Porter was the nearest resort

Takes me back
Mum was a real hippy and those years influenced my desire for European travel

Fly back noon tomozza, Paul. Have been staying in Punta Prima for the week, which I assume is Spanish for either ‘best bet’ or ‘first toe poke’. Been kinda bored, if truth be known, so will be glad to get back to my version of normality.

:) Tres droll. Sorry, Strolls, can’t help myself. I have a fairly unusual surname myself - no I’m not really U Burr - so it just irritates me when people can’t be bothered to learn how to spell their team manager’s name properly.

Me too. If ordering food or something unimportant, I say my name is 'Smith' and they invariably then ask me how that is spelt?!

Just seen the goals also. Comedy stuff, but in a bad way... How can proffessional football team play forty minutes so horredensly??? What i`ve heard, that the first half was quite decent. Hope it only goes better from this. I still stay behind my words when i predicted us to be 8th in championship comes the may. Only my faith has become a bit shaky now....

I am nearly to embarrased to say I predicted 9th Igor....

I hope I am even nearly right.
I would settle for "not relegated" currently

Just a bad day all around....Now tell me who dont get one of those from time to time ? Man utd had one yesterday as they lost and whether it is by one goal or ten goals it is still a loss and so you pick yourself up dust yourselves down and try and do better next time......It's only a game after all...

Yep, thanks for that.

When I read the result on my smartphone, my reaction was such that my wife genuinely thought that someone, or something, dear to me had died. Perhaps it had...
Being 1-1 the last time I'd checked made the final score all the more incomprehensible. Not seen us get a spanking that bad for ages.

Umbrella Man had better get things in order PDQ or he'll be out on his ear. I wonder if the board are already getting itchy feet. For the sake of stability more than for the sake of McClaren I really do hope he's got what it takes to come back from three losses on the spin and the worst result in over 30 years.

QPR are looking to pick up their first points of the season this weekend at the Hawthorns when facing West Bromwich Albion.

It has been three and a half years since the R’s last trip to the Hawthorns in what was a memorable 4-1 victory.

That was, of course, a Premier League game but the Baggies now find themselves playing in the second tier of English football for the first time since 2010 following their relegation.

Now led by their former centre-back Darren Moore, the side from the West Midlands have had a mixed start to the campaign winning one, drawing one and losing one, whilst also progressing to Round Two of the Carabao Cup.

The R’s will come up against a former face on Saturday with winger Matty Phillips now a key player for the Baggies.

After a comfortable victory over Peterborough in mid-week attention now switches to the Championship, and with three games in the next seven days, things can change very quickly in this division.

The R’s were unlucky to get nothing against Sheffield United last week so will hope for a somewhat change in fortune against, on paper, a strong looking West Brom team.

Previous classic meeting

WBA 1-4 QPR – April 2015
QPR convincingly beat West Brom to record only their second Premier League away win of the season and move within a point of safety.

Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas struck from long range before Charlie Austin headed a 16th league goal of the season and Bobby Zamora's superb lob made it 3-0.

Victor Anichebe headed a goal back for West Brom, who had Youssouf Mulumbu sent off for an elbow on Joey Barton.

But Barton wrapped up victory from close range after a swift counter-attack to give Chris Ramsey’s side a memorable win.

Manager Quotes

Steve McClaren: “West Brom are full of Premier League pedigree and it is a big test for us. They’ve more or less kept their squad together. They’ve added Dwight Gayle, a proven scorer in the Championship. It will be very tough.”

Darren Moore: “Because we’re in the Championship, we’re a bigger scalp for a lot of people, I’m just focusing on the personnel here. Every single game has massive hurdles to deal with and we can only handle them one at a time. That’s the best way to go about it really. I can’t influence what people think outside the club, I just focus on the strength we have got to try to win football matches.”

Nines, you were close to spot on with your team selection.

Just a small surprise of Lynch bring preferred over Baptiste.

Well done!

Since you are obviously ITK, what will be the team for our mid-week cup match? :)
