Yes, but only in the same way as a punch on the hooter is an upgrade to a knee in the knackers. Or something.
Are you ready to read a painfully honest report on Saturday’s fiasco? https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...brom-wallop-seven-through-hapless-qpr--report
Did anybody say any of those things? I don't think I did. I'm just saying and others are agreeing that Holloway worked under the same financial constraints as Maclaren. TBF it is only three games so far but it's not good and the clock is ticking.
Which timing are we talking about? One thing that cries out for an explanation is how when Holloway's mum passed away TF immediately moved to bring in Maclaren and all at a time when we had seemed to turn a corner, were scoring for fun and had recently outclassed Villa. I remember Holloway being interviewed and defiantly telling the interviewer he was going nowhere. I seem to recall Fernandes making angry tweets sshortly before then expressing his support and appreciation for the job Holloway was doing. Was that all bullshit? Or as usual did the appointment of Maclaren come on the back of Tony making a snap judgment? If the latter, based on what precisely? 8 weeks as part of Redknapp's team when we won seven games by 1-0 and bored the opposition to defeat. Frankly I don't think I'm being unreasonable in wanting the owners to make decisions which affect the club I support on a bit more than just personal likes, dislikes whims and hunches
Holy ****, ok worried now. Very interesting stats ref number of senior games although a fair few of them wouldn't have been in the championship.
Having seen the highlights I have isolated the issue. Our players thought they were in a game of musical statues rather than yer actual soccerball. I’m sure that when SuperMac tells them this all will be fine. If Ollie is the answer what the **** is the question? I’ve shot myself in the foot now I want to do the same to my head, who can help? If current results continue we can sack McClaren (if we lose the next one by 5 we probably should immediately) and then get someone else in, but let’s not fool ourselves that it will make that much of a difference. Last time that worked was with Mark Hughes, briefly. We are stuck with this squad and can only fiddle round the edges with loans until next summer. We are stuffed on spending and it gets worse with the end of parachutes next season, unless we want to break the rules again, which is just how we ended up where we are. My Sunderland mate is really enjoying League One after years of misery in higher leagues. Not the worst thing in the world, though I would prefer to avoid total humiliation on a weekly basis on our journey there. I’ve had that falling out of the PL.
Seven years to the day after TF took control of a newly-promoted PL team, untold millions of pounds, a revolving door of managers, a record fine, a f*cking transfer embargo and a team heading for the oblivion of League One shipping seven goals to celebrate the anniversary. We're also seeing our near neighbours on a shoestring budget by comparison playing silky smart football and real contenders for promotion with their new ground under construction. He has royally f*cked things up with one broken promise after another. It's gonna be a long way back...
I didn't see yesterday's game, but I suspect (having seen the Sheffield United game) that a least some of our difficulties arose from trying to play out from the back, or playing 'properly' as it is fashionably described. What a heap of **** this is. It's so simple for the opposition to suss what we are doing, press high and wait for the inevitable ****-up. MCCLLLaren (sorry, got confused Uber) must abandon this, in my opinion. Now is not time for smartarse experimentation.
I should probably wait for the QPR v Bristol City thread but, to my incredulity, the bookies think we are more likely to win on Tuesday than City. This 'good news' is tempered by them shortening the odds on us being relegated with only Rotherham, Reading and Ipswich below us. Three games in and it's squeaky bum time already! (Joke - don't snap at me ).
Tres droll. Sorry, Strolls, can’t help myself. I have a fairly unusual surname myself - no I’m not really U Burr - so it just irritates me when people can’t be bothered to learn how to spell their team manager’s name properly.
Nice my parents had a Villa there 73-85 San Clemente near Cales Coves Never been back What’s it like today ? Cala n Porter was the nearest resort Takes me back Mum was a real hippy and those years influenced my desire for European travel
Oh, I'm right with you mate. I have what should be a fairly straightforward surname, which is routinely misspelt by people who are too lazy to try and get it right. Plus I'm still trying to get over how we lost to the Belgiums.
